Sirius XM Android app is here

I have been a Sirius subscriber for a few years. I have a radio in my car. The internet used to be free if you were a subscriber, it still should be. How many times I listen to it in the car, about 2 to 3 times a week.

I would like to listen to 128 Nascar on my phone, but that channel is not on the internet version, that sucks!

If you go to the Sirius/XM site, look at the channels for Sirius/XM Online. It's the same channels that the app has.

on my last job i travelled contantly from san antonio to the dallas/ft worth area so having xm was great, never lost a signal, just had to find a station willing to play the xm with very minimal static.

now using this for a day or so, i see that this is in no way what i needed even though it was something i wanted. now with my new job, i travel from san antonio to del rio, uvlade, eagle pass, kingsville, victoria, and corpus christi. there are moments between the travel that i lose 3g (which is why my gps kinda sucks but is still great) so the xm app would be useless except in san antonio.

unless there is an antennea extender i could use like my panasonic xm receiver.

side note: a couple of days before the app came out i received a notice from xm stating that i would receive a free 7 day trial on my panasonic receiver to get me back to xm, then the app appears at the same time.....

Since I cant edit my post I make a new one..

If you already have a Sirius subscription do you have to pay a seperate fee or does this give you any kind of break? I can't see paying for it twice; I may cancel my other subscription and get this app. I have a portable satellite radio and plug the output into the in dash unit so I could do this I think.

I'm assuming you have a Stiletto also? Ive had the Stiletto 2 for about 2 years and its ok but the droid definitely blows it out of the water, I'm selling my stiletto and was about to cancel my account completely, I may just keep internet radio.

64k Internet radio used to be free and it was b$3/month in addition to your normal fee for "cd quality", now I guess they did away with the free option. I used to listen to the internet radio while I was at work but forgot I had it and never canceled it, I finally just used it for about the first time in a year lol

My opinion: ditch sirius (or atleast the stiletto) and use slacker.

Yes I have the stiletto 2 and i dont tbink its that bad. I am trying this app for the free week. Several people are upset with Stern not being in the lineup; I'm missing Fox News.

I don't get why anyone would be willing to pay $150 a year for internet streaming radio.
You are not going to get the same coverage as you would with a typical XM Radio device as they are satellite based.

You don't get the ability to record the music, or anything of the sort. Why not just pay a one time fee of $2.99 and get Radiotime. It has talk shows, music, and all the rest that you would get with the XM app without the monthly cost. Additionally you can listen to LOCAL stations, that you already know and like.

If you already have a sirius-xm subscription, internet radio is only $3 more per month which I gladly pay. However I'd agree that an internet only subscription is a waste of money because you pay almost the same, without having a regular satellite radio to use.

Now I know I'm not gonna keep it! When I bluetooth from the droid to my car stereo/ nav system it sounds horrid. Droid live, pandera and my music player all sounds good playing via bluetooth... Sirus= crap sound

I can only guess there onto my plan... I was gonna dump the $12 buck a month plan and just stream it via droid. Can someone hack it so it plays good via bluetooth ?

Ha! I'm so glad you posted that, because I was thinking of doing the exact same thing.

How do you come up with 150.00 a year? If you already have XM or Sirius installed it's like 3.00 a month more. That's 36.00 a year.

I don't know anything about Raidotime but the reason I subscribe to XM is because of Deep Tracks, which nobody else has anything like and for an occasional baseball game. Anyway I have a friend who's a DJ on Classic Vinyl. Dusty Street, make sure you listen to her show. :)

Hook,
I came up with the $150 price as someone posted that is the cost if you don't already have an XM account. I can't for the life of me see any reason why anyone would pay this for XM ever. I guess I just have my priorities put in a different place!!

It would cost me a total of 276.00 for the two radios I have including the charge for on line service (probably a bit less since I pay quarterly).

I'm certainly not telling you how to spend your hard earned money. I was just wondering where the figure came up from. I think 150.00 is too much for just the internet alone, I wouldn't pay that.

That's why I'm waiting for spotify. I wouldn't mind 10-13 per month for their best plan.

It's like $15 a month, I have it for my 200/mile a day commute to work and back....Some have it because they hate commercials....Other have it for Stern.
