Sirius XM Android app is here

I don't get why anyone would be willing to pay $150 a year for internet streaming radio.
You are not going to get the same coverage as you would with a typical XM Radio device as they are satellite based.

You don't get the ability to record the music, or anything of the sort. Why not just pay a one time fee of $2.99 and get Radiotime. It has talk shows, music, and all the rest that you would get with the XM app without the monthly cost. Additionally you can listen to LOCAL stations, that you already know and like.

Does it have BB King Bluesville or the Fox News Channel?

IF either are available on your local Radio stations, then it will likely have them. If they don't have a station listed, all you have to do is send an email and it usually gets added very fast.

I did see Fox Sports as well as ESPN Sports listed in the list of available items.

He didn't ask about Fox Sports. He aasked about Fox News and BB Kings Bluesville. As far as local radio channels go I don't know what you're talking about. To the best of my knowledge all of Sirius/XM programming is original with the exception of MLB, NHL, Etc. I would advise him to google the on line programming to see what he gets. I'd say BB King yes Fox news I'm not sure.

I did find a feed in the APP that was listed as FOX News. Remember that many of the feeds are broadcast in local stations, and since Radiotime gets you access to all of the US and many foreign stations there are a lot of options.

Now I know I'm not gonna keep it! When I bluetooth from the droid to my car stereo/ nav system it sounds horrid. Droid live, pandera and my music player all sounds good playing via bluetooth... Sirus= crap sound

I can only guess there onto my plan... I was gonna dump the $12 buck a month plan and just stream it via droid. Can someone hack it so it plays good via bluetooth ?

Something is wrong with this statement.

There shouldn't be any quality degredation. You either aren't getting the premium feed, or you need to maybe adjust the multimedia volume on your phone down a little and turn up your car sound a little more.

There is nothing in the app itself that could make bluetooth sound any worse than any other connection. If you're getting "crap sound" it's on your end. I've been listening today with my Moto S9 BT headphones and it sounds excellent... just as good as anything else.

If it's just the channels you get over the internet, it's no good for me. The internet feed doesn't carry the traffic channels or Radio Classics. Oh, well.

I used mine in my car via my Aux in jack and I thought the sound stream quality was bad as well. Which is odd, because at home with my ipod touch and my home stereo it sounds great. I also wonder how will we get updates? It's not in the market or wasn't when I installed it. I assume they will do updates for the landscape mode and things down the road?

Niiice ... i just got the yearly subscription and saved some money. The rate is $12.95/mo without a sirius radio for their internet service. The yearly works out to $155.40, mine was $142.45.

Listening to the virus and GD radio all afternoon.

Stock 2.1 Droid.

I was going to cancel my satellite subscription and keep the internet radio since I figured it would be $3/month. If its regular price ($13/month) then I'm definitely ditching it, since IMO the slacker app is better in general even though the connection does drop out at random times (dropped out 3 times this morning in the span of about ten minutes).

I downloaded the app earlier but it's not showing up in my apps at all , only in the downloads file of xscope. How do I put a shortcut on my screen or even find it in my apps , i'm getting really pissed .

I found it, but the name of the app is Online, which is kinda dumb. I was expecting it to be named Sirius/XM, but nope.

interesting, I was confused when I couldnt find it earlier.

Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6…… What, my T.O would say that all the time back in my Police Academy days. I like that…

I'm also having audio quality issues. Although it's not all the time. Sounds very tinny, then it clears up and sounds great. Wondering if it's throttling the stream based on the detected bandwidth?

The App works great on the iPhone, perhaps on the Android version there is a high and low quality setting?

streaming audio is still hit or miss via cellular data.. I really wish XM-Sirius would release the XM skydock for Android devices, I LOVE it with my iPhone, but im going with the new shadow/extreme will it comes out in July to get away from att.

I've been using it for the past few day driving around Los Angeles. I've gotten a lot of "lost signal" messages, blips, and the occasional "swirly" audio. I'm using the same AUX connection to my car stereo as my Sirius receiver, and the sound quality is often quite bad.

2 things I've noticed about the app so far...

The app runs the internet feed about 30 sec to 1 min behind the satellite feed

The app picks up the satellite feed from time to time if you are near one.

Try this out to confirm...I've played the app on my droid in my car while my stiletto was playing the satellite feed at the same time when....my droid picked up the satellite feed for about 3-5 seconds before returning to the internet feed. Then, my gym plays Sirius and I was using the app there where it did the same thing, picked up the feed for a few seconds before cutting pack.

The first time it happened I was like wtf, it reminded me of the old wireless home phones that would pick up another conversation and you could hear them and then cut out. But it's happened to me more then a few times in two different places.

Try it out, play both feeds (satellite) and (internet) near each other and report.....

How do you come up with 150.00 a year? If you already have XM or Sirius installed it's like 3.00 a month more. That's 36.00 a year.

I don't know anything about Raidotime but the reason I subscribe to XM is because of Deep Tracks, which nobody else has anything like and for an occasional baseball game. Anyway I have a friend who's a DJ on Classic Vinyl. Dusty Street, make sure you listen to her show. :)

Really? Deep Tracks and Classic Vinyl are pretty much the only music stations I listen to, aside from talk/news.

Sirius radio

Ok.... I think I might have figured out why I can not listen. Could someone please let me know if I am right???. Even though I have a Lifetime membership with free online listening, I would need to purchase the premium package for $2.99 a month. Is that correct? Is there a way to listen online through the Droid? Sorry if this was already addressed...
thanks!
Mike
