Smart Keyboard

Hello
thanks for your comments. I know everything is not perfect and I will do what I can to fix the problems, but it's not always easy as I don't own any Motorola Droid or Nexus1.. For those who have the "space bar toggles symbol keyboard" bug, can you tell me if it happens when you type with a single finger ? And on which phone ?
And can you reproduce the problem by:
- holding the "q" key for 3s
- press and release the space bar (still holding the "q" key)
- release the "q" key

I suspect this is linked to the "XP" bug I talked about some days ago, but I thought it didn't occur on other phones than mine, as that's what people said

Also, it would help me if Motorola Droid / Nexus 1 users could tell me if the following works:
- Hold the "c" key (in portrait mode)
- Pres and release "u" several times: does it output "u" or another letter ?

Thanks

Hi,
you should have both versions in the Language and Keyboard settings. Are you sure you selected the right one ? (anyway you can uninstall the old app)
Otherwise I don't see how that's possible...

I don't have the spacebar problem, but when I hold c and press u I just get an ' . Multitouch isn't working at all for me with this keyboard.

It's normal that you get a ' because you long press the c key, but after when you press and release the "u" key, it should input something (even a wrong letter). If it doesn't, your phone doesn't support multitouch (then it would be a limitation of the hardware/kernel driver, not of the keyboard ;) )

Ok, so I just played with the keyboard a little more, and I do get some multitouch, like when pressing D and then O, but sometimes it doesn't work....maybe the kernel? But I have a Droid (it is overclocked, maybe the problem?)

Edit: Yeah, d to o definitely works, but not getting c to u to work.

There are definitely bugs in the multitouch API provided by the android framework. I think it depends a lot on the phone, but it's difficult for me to figure out as I only have a (modified ROM for) HTC Hero, which has itself a lot of bugs ;). I can try to implement (if possible) workarounds for the bugs, but first I need to know them.

By the way I think I have found a potential problem which can explain the "spacebar" bug, I will deliver an upgrade soon

Awesome, I have faith in you so I'm not going to go for a refund, look forward to the updates.

EDIT: I dunno what it is, but the phone keeps sending messages when I didn't press enter.

Why would I even bother buying your program when you dont even bother to answer my question about it. Not a good way to do business.

Whoa...That was a bit much. In Cyril's defense he's been working really hard on working on bug fixes and getter the Pro version in the market. The FREE version of the app has always been available on the market for you to try out for FREE. And the differences between them are highlighted in the description. But to answer your questions no it does not come with skins, and you should probably try it out for FREE.

Wow, God forbid he doesn't answer EVERYONE'S Questions. You need to chill out. No one is asking you to buy his program. Just leave. You're doing no one here any good.

Why would I even bother answering your questions when can you just try the app yourself (you can be refunded within 24h if you don't like it)

Sorry to be rude, but I keep answering questions all day long to help people, while working on improvements on my free time for this app, so it's quite difficult to keep calm when reading such a post.

Right on Cyril. I understand your frustration. Some people are so ignorant!~
