Sourcery 2.2 - Full Version

ha got to keep some secrets from chizzle

This is a great rom, thanks for all the effort it's running excellently.

I initially made this account just to voice my thanks, but I've hit a bug that is inconsequential, but that i want to ask about. I was trying to set some wallpaper, but instead of the stock papers there is an adw wallpapers that has only one pic in it. if i select this pic it force closes. my impression is that this isn't meant to be a wallpaper. so i just downloaded something from the market. just want to confirm nothing is amiss here. what is adw anyways?

Thanks guys.

yeah not many have come across that since adw only offers 1 wallpaper anyway. but what the deal is is one of our beta testers made some cool walpapers and i was attempting to add them into adw in place of the stock one. and it didnt work :) and development stopped before it ever got fixed. :) but its just the one adw walpaper and its not worth using anyways... sorry about that.

Thanks for the responses. Glad to hear this glitch is known and inconsequential. Keep up the good work, you know, unofficially. ;)

Flashing this new version on my wifes phone made me want to flash this back on my phone. Just one question, what kernel comes on this rom?

I can't remember which one is the stock kernel but you many options built in, as im sure you know...

left gingerbread for this rom. good work. froyo is just so much better on the droid. but i wanted to know does anyone know how to lock a custom app in memory? for example com.android.mms? cant figure it out..

The rom doesn't have a lock in memory feature but i can say of months of usage it's not needed. The memory management of froyo and Sourcery are phenomenal, no lost text or calls.

The only thing I would lock is the home app through its builtin feature to eliminate any chance of redraws.

I see. What's your opinion on zeplins supercharge script? Is it needed on froyo? I've been really paying attention to memory management since I was on GB for a long time.

howdy folks

the kernel is stock froyo kernel. but there are several raid zero and slayher kernels to easaly install in the settings. never had any froyo kernel not work with the rom though so it shoudl all be good. just dont use specific gb ones.

ive never used the scripts from zep but it seems some swear by them. but we do have 1 user that was having problems and was using that script but it could of been bad settings on the script or not the script at all not sure we ever figured it out. it was just that he couldnt use the newer markets in the thmes and stuff and me and chizzle have no problems.
gflam didnt have any problems either .

I read good reviews about it and he is very helpful but it's really not needed for Sourcery. I never have any memory issues and I push it as hard as possible.

Hey, first time rooter/ROM user, and I have to say that other than a few hiccups, I'm quite impressed. I've had Sourcery on my Droid for about 24 hrs now, and my phone has never been smoother, faster, or more customizable. I'm posting to give my thanks to those that made this ROM possible and those who still maintain it, as well as ask for some help or insight to a couple problems I've come across.

First, my stats:
OG Droid with Sourcery 2.2 Kang and RZ Recovery 2.0.3
RE-Renovated Sourcery Theme
Cartoon font
Slayher 1100 Kernel
OC max setting at 900 and governor set to "ondemand"

Now here's my problems:
1. When the phone is turned on, it's slow as or slower than a stock OG Droid with the latest froyo for the first couple minutes. More of a minor irritant than a problem for me though, because I usually keep my phone on at all times, anyway.

2. I tried to emulate the settings Chizzele says he uses as close as I could, because sometimes I'm at work for 12+ hrs a day, and am so busy that I either don't have time to plug my phone in, or don't even think about it. As things stand right now, I'm only getting about 5 hrs of battery life; 6 if I let my phone actually die. It could be a bad battery, but I'm hoping not because while I've had an OG Droid since Jan '10, I've only had this particular phone since April at the latest.

Anyway, thanks again for this great ROM :) It's a shame it's no longer being developed, but it's pretty kick-@ss as is.

Oops...re-read a couple posts, and switched to slayher 1000 kernel. My phone went from charging at 50% to fully charged. :P I'll have to play with it a bit now and see if I get Chiz's legendary battery life feats, but any other suggestions?
