Sourcery ROM 2.2

After getting use to changing themes so easily and kernels, boot animations with one click and auto reboot, i just cant get use to any other Rom.. Played with GB for a while but other then the built in SIP there is nothing really special about it... Sourcery is a step ahead.

I think they said that blue was closest to default, but the only way to go back to default is a fresh install...which is one reason I've yet to try any themes. The default is great.

Your probably right.. i got the GB and the Galaxy S themes that i rotate between.. never really stayed on the Stock for two long.

no default

Is there any way to change the lockscreen icons? The magic hats are freaking me out ;)

thats the theme if you change themes they will change.

Speaking of themes what one is the default? I didn't see one called default or stock in the themes list. I'm to try out some different themes but I want to be sure I can go back to stock easiky enough haha.

SOurcery was designed to be a themed rom. some wanted the great running ability of sourcery but didnt want thems. so the 2.1 and above are stockish mostly but there is noway to return back to that once you put a theme on without reinstalling. the blue is the sourcery theme for the original versions of sourcery and the way sourcery was made to look out of the box.

Yeah I'm way late to the game, but holy s *** this ROM is feature rich. It's running smooth as silk. Tryin to resolve some heat issues with rz 1100 lv and also tried slayher 1100

Any other kernel suggestions?

Also, anyone know if changing the scrolling eri text on the lockscreen is possible?

Thanks

Boot logo loop

getting a boot logo loop after installing 2.2

I downloaded the 2.2 zip from the sourcery website. Boot to recovery (CWM), wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, format boot, format system....install flash. Reboot.

I just keep getting a logo loop..and it never goes to the animation. I waited a while and let it loop to see if it ever takes, and no go.

Also tried flashing a different kernel...no go.

flashed Gapps...no go.

Redownloaded the zip from the website, wiped again like above, flashed again...no go.

Any ideas on why i cant get it too boot?

Should I try a different recovery to flash sourcery?

sorry

i was not involved in that 2.2 full rom release.
your not the first to have problems.
install the 2.1 full than the 2.2 update that works , i think that 2.2 rom is not good.
sorry for the inconvience i thought that would have been removed since its been a problem. but do it this way it will work.

Thanks G for helping keep sourcery operable and back to full magical abilities standpoint.
Regarding Sourcery rising from the ashes like the phoenix. I just don't know.
Eagle was responsible for creating a lot of the stuff that we had never seen before, just like GFlam.
I feel like Sourcery is like the greatest band ever, Led Zeppelin.
When Bonzo, Jon Bonham died they stopped for good, as without Bonzo on drums it would never be Zep. Just like without Eagle on the keyboard, it would never be sourcery.
We still have the ability to run Sourcery til the last OG dies.
Plus if GFlam joins a team, we may just have another unique ROM to run as well.
Someone once told me that when god closes a door, he opens a window.
First thing is I hate references to god.
Second is that until now I thought the window was opened to allow you to leap to your death, as the door was closed now, so what the hell was living worth..the door is closed.
But I now see it also may just have another possible interpretation, though surely less popular.
This window is a chance for one more sweet ROM to be added to our OG arsenal. It is a window not just for GFlam, but for all of us.
Mind you this window ain't the leaping outta type.

Just my opinion, though I'm sure you also used to think the door/window saying meant what I thought.

Happy flashing my flashy flashers

Well said, my friend. :)

The 2.2 release I made no changes to other than the links in the scripts I only went through the scripts and changed the links to the new server but I may have missed some I guess so I will go back and look probably Wednesday

As for me joining another team that's not going to be happening I would do sourcery again but other than that I don't think I'll be joining any other teams I'll just be working on apps second one is already under way and my java skills have been improving a lot lately

The right way to install Sourcery is to install 2.0 first and 2.2 and gapps after. Not sure why but that makes it work smooth with no issues.

For Redraws and memory issues i always lock ADW in memory, disable the Sourcery updates and airmail (i uninstalled through TB) and smooth sailing.

also along with below questions, i noticed my /system folder is always in rw mode...

ive never ran the script to mount system as rw either...is this set as a default?

and new market versions will not work for me. only verison that works is the one included in teh gapps (v1.82)

TB is titanium backup. I don't use it to restore any data just to uninstall system apps. I uninstalled the Gmail notifier as well.

As far as Kernel goes, Sourcery was always fast enough with the stock that can be OC to 800. I ran a 1.1 for a while but my phone didn't like so i use a 900 Slayher UC to 800/250.

If you want extra speed you can also speed up the transitions through spare parts.

Thanks. Great ROM but either the kernel / ROM combo or ROM, but battery is draining like crazy. It's mainly display and system, which I suspect is from the push notification and ROM updater. I'm going to remove both and see if ghagra helps.

Any other suggestions?
