Sourcery ROM 2.2

Thanks. Great ROM but either the kernel / ROM combo or ROM, but battery is draining like crazy. It's mainly display and system, which I suspect is from the push notification and ROM updater. I'm going to remove both and see if ghagra helps.

Any other suggestions?

no those apps wont cause batter drain. nothing in 2.1 and above will. if youve tried different kernels and you installed 2.0 than the 2.2 update than there should not be a problem. if you have wiped and did this a second time and you continue to see this. than id try a differnt rom and if it doesnt happen than sourcery may not like you phone it wouldnt be the first time. lmost of us had the best battery life every(still do ) i can get 2 days of regular use . not all phoens are created equal. but id test out another rom with same usage and see how it goes. also if your overclocking high that will drain the battery especially if your phone doesnt like it.

oh yeah im using this ultra super low voltage kernel. but the phone gets hottter why, or the battery dies faster. jsut because the phone seems to work doesnt mean it likes the settings. if the phone doesnt like the voltage it gets errors than it recomputes and finanly gets it right so it seems like its working fine but actually working much harder than it needs to with the proper voltage for your chip. so try differnt kernels different speeds.
If it continues to cause poor battery life than im just not sure where to go to help you from there because its just not the norm for sourcery . Hope it works for you. if not thanks for trying it and seeing what me and gflam were able to do. we enjoyed bringing it to you.,

Thanks for the replies guys. I did full wipe of data & cache, data, system, and cache partitions. I installed 2.0 then updated to 2.2

I will try a different voltage to see if that helps. Thanks again

Wait isn't the g2x like t mobile or something u switched providers as well? Anyway how u liking that it's a dual core wasn't it?

yeah its tmobile , i want something new and verizon just doesnt have it i am betting sept at earliest before a dual core 4g phone. and no 4g in my area in 2011. tmobile alreaedy has 4g in most of northern colorado i-25 corridor where i live and everyone on it has great service. and except for the 512 of ram (which is enough for the next year) has everything i want. and the wifi phone calls (pretty much like sip) is easier to use and will work at the campgrounds in the mountains . totally stock android already rooted(same basic phone as the optimus 2x) which was 1 of the 4 phones i was looking at . researched sprint and thats jsut a nogo around here. of course not att. verizon has great coverage overall but is geting way to expensive. 299 for the charge the g2x is 199. monthly is cheaper and early term is only 200 and 100 after 1 year. so i figure rock this until the quads come out next year. and its gonna be the next droid as far as romming goes from what it appears.

it comes out on wednesday already ordered a 32gig card for it and a hdmi cable for it. hdmi mirroring was something i really wanted and not all phones with hdmi have the mirroring either.

I messed with it at the store last saturday and arranged to insure i get one. it is a darn nice phone. the galaxy s-2 is better but wont see that for a while and even longer on verizon and who knows maybe they will put yahoo on it this time. and if the charge with a 2 year contract is 299 than they will price that at 5000 of course will have to come back if the merger goes through but thats 12-18 months off before anything happens with that.

too bad this is mainly a verizon forum i already signed up at the sister site android.net since they are more everything android. i do plan on getting back into romming when 2.4 or ice cream comes.

saw today they already have the g2x overclocked and stable(not sure what was clocked at ) but quandrant of 4000.

they are now saying samsung isnt going to lock their phones but im betting to get on verizon that may not be the case. the other good phone coming is the htc sensation which is tmobile. but htc seems to be trying to lock their stuff so well see. but i know most of CM is getting the g2x so it will be a big developers phone. already know the only power phones anounced for verizon are motrola so locked tight except for maybe the targa but there is no promise that wont be. even if the bionic comes itll be locked just like the atrix.(nothing against the charge or thunderbolt good phones but just too much not enough. would like to get the ram of the thunderbolt and the g2x would be perfect.) just hope the tegra gets netflix but not a big deal.

well youll have someone with it to test your programs unless you want to get it maybe we could do a little more magic in the future.

I can't switch over to t-mobile my mom pays for my service and all so i'm stuck with big red i'll most likely be on a tb next, however, i wouldn't mind writing a Sourcery Spell Book app with a bunch of stuff in it like liberty tool box and what not or other apps for the rom now that my java skills are a bit better.

Yea i'd be able to help i can keep rom manager the website etc all up to date scripts are universal so i can write those and even apps for the rom wouldn't be hard to do i mean i could still help out even if i'm not on that phone

Hey Chizzele, thanks for the suggestion, but I tried that already...it breaks the link to my market and it doesnt appear in my app tray at all, but is present in the /system/app folder. I tried untheme'd version 2.3.4 and it loads but starts FC after 40 secs or so. Thought it may be the market updater, but froze that with TB andwiped data for the market and tried again...same result. so I kept down grading market version until I got a working one.

something weird happened last night too. i checked my email before bed and woke up this morning and my email app (K9 mail) disappeared. I had it on the SD card and it showed up in the programs section on the SD card, but as a broken app. No biggie since i had a TB backup and just uninstalled and restored...but weird...

I never had much luck with any pop email app so i usually use gmail or the godaddy webmail app so im not sure about that one. I am pretty sure though that its not rom related. I had those issues even before i rooted.

Alright so I've found three bugs. Might be because I was lazy and forgot to clean the Dalvik Cache. So yeah tell me if you guys have seen this or if its common or if I failed lol.

1. The market FC's if you try and cancel a downloading app.
2. If you go into the call log the format is all wrong.
3. I forget what the third one was. I found it earlier today but didn't write and down and can't remember... But yeah I did have a third bug. I'll post if I encounter it again.

Do you guys have those two bugs? Or should I try reinstalling it?

no the market does not force close. and its not the davlik because that is cleared by the rom installed so it doesnt matter if you cleared it or not (reinstall suggested)

call log that is caused by the back groudn. go to magic commands and choose the remove back grounds options and that will fix that but the back gorunds will revert back to the boring black.

the third one no the rom should not make you lose your memory , now making the rom will cause that but not using it.

Anyways I'll mess around with the themes for a day or so then reinstall it. What better time than to try out the themes

And sucks about the call log part. Imma keep the backgroud though cause its sexy. Hopefully you guys can think of a fix for it in 2.WhateverIsAboutToBeDeveloped lol

Edit: Maybe you were right about the memory part, cause I just remembered haha! If you have the battery percentage display on, and then your charge your phone, it'll be off until you reboot.
