Stuck on 1X? How to get 3G back

Damn I'm in Denver also. My Thunderbolt comes in the mail tomorrow. I hope I can activate it

To clarify, once I tried the fix listed at the beginning of the thread, my phone has been fine. I did that late this afternoon and have been on 3G since that time...however, until I did the fix I just wanted to make clear, I was getting actual service/network outages, not just a 3G/4G unavailability, slow connection, or lack of data connection.
Alright. How are speeds on 4G in Denver?

Great. I live in Aurora and I still get 3 bars of 4G from Denver.

As most are aware both the LTE network and eHPRD are down (a special version of 3G for the Thunderbolt only). To get 3G data back you just need to change your settings back to the normal 3G network. Here are the steps:

Thanks! I really appreciate the help!!!! What a nice response to my first post - I think I'll like it here!

Am I the only one with this gray Call button problem?

The bolt is having network authentication issues and is why we can't get on 4G. I'm guessing that is the reason the call button is coming up gray for some people because the phone can't verify you should be allowed on the network. I have experienced this for a short time on my device but it didn't last long.

Please read past posts if you have a 4g phone you can not use 228 matter fact disabled so you can't ruin sim

Myself included. Actually I didn't have any issues till 5 minutes ago. So I did the steps and back on 3g. Good looking out OP.

I was stuck on 1x and did the Rev A workaround this morning and it worked fine on 3G. I switched back to eHRPD about an hour ago and 3G is back (not 4G yet) in the Los Angeles area.

Since I don't live in an area with 4G do you think I can activate eHPRD when its back up again and just leave it in CDMA auto (PRL) to maintain it? Then whenever I am in a 4G area I can go back to Phone Info and switch to CDMA + LTE/EvDo auto and connect to 4G...would this work?

Anybody know if this will work?

Thanks goodness for these steps! This 1X struggle is NOT the business. I don't live in an area with 4G so I'm not missing that, but not having my 3G? Oh no. I hope they get us up and running soon.
