Stuck on 1X? How to get 3G back

Worked for me as well. Just remember to do it from the stock diaper. The first few times I tried it nothing happened. Then I remembered my default was set to Dialer One

Do you hear that rumbling thunder in the distance? That's the sound of millions of iPhone and AT&T users laughing.

I was OK with the outtage last night, even this morning -- but seriously a full work day and still no ETA?

Must be something really serious since they are not able to LTE back. Does anyone know whats cause for this mess

It sucks that 4g is down, but we now have work around's to getting 3g back up and running.

The speeds are fine, and ill be ok holding onto 3g for a few days if need be. I hope they fix it fast though. I miss my blazing fast 20MBs I was getting.

Guys, are any of you having problems making calls?

On my thunderbolt, when I hit the Phone button to make a call on the dialpad, the Call button in the middle, that is usually green, is grayed out and is not responsive. I tap on it, beat on it...but it's grayed out and I'm stuck unable to dial out.

Are you experiencing this too, and if so, how do we get it back working?

Edit: Fixed by doing a battery pull. I've got my green "Call" button back.

I apologize but I am new to all of this.

Woke up this morning to a 1x and figured it had something to do with the juice defender app I loaded before bed last night (told you I'm a noob). So I uninstalled it and restarted my phone and still nothing. I got that Phone Info app and switched to CDMA auto (PRL) but that didn't help either. I am in eastern Washington and outside of a the 4G coverage area but my coworker has a Droid 1 and is on 3G right now??

Any help would be appreciated??

I was curious about this too...does it make a difference for us TB users if we choose "CDMA auto (PRL)" vs "CDMA"? I thought that an auto PRL (preferred roaming list, I'm assuming) is better than just "CDMA".

I've been experiencing random occasional complete loss of network service, not just the 3G but the 1X also. I have on multiple occasions today gotten error messages when trying to make calls and text. I seem to be one of the few on the forum so far to experience this. I'm in the Denver metro area and normally have 3 or 4G everywhere I go. My problems started around 7:30 this morning MST. I have not seen the specific problem you complain of (grayed out call button) but have instead just had my phone freezing when I try to make or receive a call and then either revert to the home screen or give me an error message on the screen.

I called to ask for an eta on when it'll be back up. rep said she didn't know. she then asked if my issue had been "resolved today" by her answer.
no credit offer or anything

My phone hasn't been freezing, but it's ANNOYING not being able to use the touch dialpad to call somebody.

For example, I wanted to call VZW customer service. Don't get me wrong, the dialpad actually works for all the numbers and pound signs. So, I dialed the 800 number and the *611. No problem there. But again, my "Call" button, instead of being green, is grayed out and non-responsive. So what I had to do instead was save *611 as a contact, then go through the Contacts, and hard press the Call option when it popped up.

Am I the only one with this gray Call button problem?
