Swype Android Beta!!

When I clicked the link in the email it took me to the page and then my Droid froze and eventually rebooted.

I'm running DroidMod 1.0, has anybody running this mod successfully installed this beta??

Hooray and Hallelujah! I feel obligated to point out that this was all my doing since I finally decided a couple of weeks ago to purchase SlideIt and adjust to using something other than Swype. I was still going through Swype withdrawal though I'd adjusted fairly well to SlideIt's features. Now I'm going to have to go back and re-learn things like looping for double letters and above the board swypes for upper case.

You have it, just turn your Droid to Landscape, same as in that pic

BTW, I got the offical Beta for my Droid and for my Wife's Eris, works MUCH better than the previous version

I know I totally expected that version lol I really like it, but I'm glad they even have a beta out though.

Put your typing cursor in a text field, hold your finger on the text screen
until you see an option to choose input.

I've noticed that this version in only 4-5 mb compared to another i donwloaded a few days ago that was a whopping 9mb.

The swype settings are in settings > Language & keyboard > Swype settings

I tried it and cant get it to work at all, it shows my line where i've been swiping, but never inputs the text, if i just tap the word out it works. The leaked swype worked fine for me before.

I'm having the same problem- and it was working just fine before I installed the new version!

Got it thanks I like it alot, the one thing I dont like is the suggestive text right in the middle of the screen, so I turned it off..

this might be dumb, but is there a way to get it to add a period if i hit the space bar twice?

If you type a message then delete back to start, it doesnt re-capitalize 1st letter again, also it seems to be really unresponsive..takes a sec for text to catch up to typing speed, even when your deleting it lags but I like the layout and swype feature..

i have to say im enjoying this more then i thought i would, pretty cool feature
