TBolt root doesn't work

Over on xda someone made a program that sets up your computer with the sdk and adb, including modifying the path. After that all you have to do is extract the exploit files in folder with adb. Then follow the instructions with the two files that need to be flashed from your SD card.

Not that bad, but the first time you do it your knees will be knocking... LOL

I guess that I have just been spoiled with the iPhone and DroidX, where it was always a 1 click and done type of thing. Hell, the iPhone at one point, you just typed a URL into the browser and it went to a page and asked if you wanted to jailbreak it and you answer yes and it did it. LOL

Lol....Im sorry this may sound mean....but if your not willing to learn a little about the system or process then I really dont think you should even be rooting, etc. I dont even like the fact that it gets as easy a the 1-click methods. People get into modifying something they know nothing about and thats when something gets bricked........and consequently are on here freaking out when the phone wont boot.

Followed the instructions for EasyRoot, simply doesn't work. It does step 1 and pushes all the files over, and then nothing. You can reboot the phone and it is supposed to flash something, and it doesn't.

So either this new "easy" root is not quite ready for prime time, or the instructions suck and they are leaving some steps out.

Any idears?

Instructions were from here:

[Updated: 3/26]Easyroot + S-Off [Version 1.6.3.11] - xda-developers

I have a pdf that has step by step done by another member on xda don't remember who but it helped me a lot anyone who wants it let me know.

Something as simple as rooting so that I can uninstall bloat, or overclock or even just set up my own icons and things, should be easy. I don't need to take a programming course to be "smart enough" to do these things.

Like I said, most other phones have a simple 1 click root/jailbreak, and it works very well. This one just isn't there yet.

And frankly, with Verizon rumored to be about to lay the hammer down on any rooted devices on their network, possibly kicking you off of data and voice and blocking your rooted device from their services, perhaps it is better to just leave her phone alone for now. LOL

That was the thread that I followed, but you have to be a member to log in and get the PDF.

Like I said, I think that I am gonna wait and see how Verizon attacks the rooted user base before I subject her phone to possibly being nuked and her contract canceled. LOL

Verizon has no clue unless you use your root only apps to do illegal actions. And even then it's hard for them to notice.

EDIT: ROFL I didn't even think of checking those phones that don't accept OTA updates

Some Food for Thought - Bootloaders, Rooting, Manufacturers, and Carriers

And there is a thread somewhere in this forum referencing that discussion.

Some say not to worry about it, others say that it is the beginning of the end. I don't know what to think yet. LOL

What GSX-R do you have? I had a 2006 750 with Traxxion Dynamics forks, Elka shock, Gilles rearsets, Bazzazz fueling box and custom map, full Yoshimura exhaust, 520 conversion, etc... Loved that bike!

Actually there appears to be a way, by looking at the phones that fail to update to the OTA, and seeing why they failed apparently. Or making the OTA a "mandatory update", and looking at which phones appear to be refusing it.

There are ways, and the thread I posted talked about how the industry is moving in that direction... It isn't a fun read.

Already read it frankly I think they will have huge problems on their hands I can see if they use it to track illegal use of services but for root in general I don't think its an issue as far as devices already rooted.

I did love it but my wife made me get rid of it after my third speeding ticket in two months lol cops just hated cause two were for 10 over which isn't crap on a bike

Unless they cannot tell who is tethering, so they just go after the rooted phones instead, or claim that "rooting allows malware and exploits and we need to protect our network"...
