[ROM] The CM7 Gingerbread ROM (CM4D2-GB) is now ready for prime time!

No need to sbf for apex bro. I'd stick with cm7 tho.

I just flashed the latest 8/28 build from revs site. Very very smooth! Make sure you flash jboxens mod zip as well over it. It's great!

CM74D2-GB

Hey Idopa, do you run flash that in conjunction with running the V6 Supercharger script and the 98kickasskernel tweaks?

Alright, I have a serious problem that I doubt anybody here can help me with but at this point I have no other options.

I am on vacation outside of my Verizon coverage area. I had good enough telephone coverage but was running CM7 4D2 and had terrible battery life and needed something with better battery since I can't charge constantly so I thought I would try CM7 GB. I wiped and flashed the GB Monster Leak and when I went to activate my phone, no luck. Called Verizon from another phone and they are telling me that I will not be able to activate it until I get back into an area where they have their own towers!

So, does anybody have any suggestions? Any way to activate the phone or is it possible to go back to one of my back ups and have a working phone? I am afraid the answer is no and I am stuck without a phone until i go home in a few days:(

Believe it or not, I had this prob once when a tower was down, I flashed a backup, and it put me back to every setting I had and it found the nearest tower some how..go for it..you should be ok, but nothing is in stone..you have nothing to lose!
Edit. Just make sure your backup is on the same rom and kernel..btw..I have heard of a trick that when you get the triangle at setup in the status bar..hit clockwise on all the corners..this will get you on your interface again to backup...

How would I even get to the point where I could flash a back up?

My last flash was to the GB Monster Leak so, would I have to go back to a GB back up or could I flash back to a CM7 Froyo back up?

If you have a GB backup then you are safe to go back to it. If not, you have to get back to the froyo kernel prior to flashing the backup. Use a computer and run RSD Lite to get back to the stock kernel, re-root, go into the CWM recovery, and then jump back to your backup.

Ok..I gotcha..well, if your on gb leak..make sure you have a ginger backup and flash that one,if froyo, make sure you have a froyo backup and etc..but..my concern is..can you get to recovery? Cwm?

I do have a Liberty Gingerbread backup stored somewhere but have no idea how to get to it or if it will somehow magically re-activate my phone. Any help here would be much appreciated because otherwise I will be without a phone for the duration of my vacation:(

If the last backup you did was one for the the Liberty Gingerbread, head into recovery and select that one. You can navigate to the clockworkmod folder and take a look at the backup folder. You will find the backups named by the date of the backup. If you remember the date, hop into recovery and use that one.

Yeah what he said..but are you able to get to cwm recovery? It may not magically give you service but its worth a try..I am under the impression that your at the setup on gingerleak..so..I'm not sure you are able to navigate at this point..if not..try first going clockwise tapping each corner and it should bring you to the sign in for setup..then skip sign in..so you will be able to get to your files..get bootstrap rolling if you can..then cwm flashed..then try and get to the proper backup...I hope this helps guy...I understand your frustrations..I am trying to help..lemme know where your at on these steps..if your where I think you are..if your already able to get to cwm recovery..just flash the backup you have of lib..you may want to flash lib ging..then before boot flash your backup..keep us posted...:-)

If you can get wifi (any library, coffee shops, many restaurants etc., and most neighborhoods have multiple houses w/unsecured wifi where you can sit on the curb in front of the house and use their connection), you should be able to use the Market to download ROM Manager and then use that to boot into Recovery. Then you can flash your liberty backup (assuming it's GB) and see if that helps your situation.

Take a backup of your current setup if you think you'll want to flash back to it later on.
