[ROM] The CM7 Gingerbread ROM (CM4D2-GB) is now ready for prime time!

That's right...you are on the GB OTA w/CM on top of it, but the USB options you're seeing aren't right for the 9/02 nightly. Are you sure you flashed the 9/02 nightly? You can get it from this link:

http://synik4l.net/phcdownload/download.php?id=30

Which is from the OP of this thread, this build: 2011-09-02

[DEV_THREAD]Droid 2 CM7 with Gingerbread Leak Kernel

Hold power and click reboot and recovery. So, you're on the 8/21 build it looks like, not the 9/2?

CM7GB-602

If you aren't sure, then you should go ahead and flash it.

Download the file to your phone from the link using the stock browser

If you have ROM Manager, launch it, select install ROM from SD card, browse to the folder where the download was saved (should be "Download" on your SD card if you're using the stock browser), select the file, and select back up existing ROM and wipe dalvik cache.

If you don't have ROM Manager, you should get it from the Market, it's a noob-helper (and I use it all the time) and is free.

:)

The dates are messed up...the 9/02 update is the 9/03 update. You have the right file.

I tried out the froyo version coming from Liberty 1.5 (it ran better then 2.0) with imoseyon add on and data throttling. The froyo version battery was horrible and it actually didn't work as good (for me anyways) as lib 1.5 with imoseyon. So I am back on 1.5 with data throttling hack.

How does this version compare with Liberty 1.5? I get 16 hours plus of battery with pretty heavy usage using speaker phone. If I have a weak signal though, ill get more like 8-10 hours.

Is there a data throttling hack, or is it not needed because its cyanogenmod and there is no throttling

Don't think there is a data throttling hack, haven't seen talk about it, but we're using basic stock CM7, so you could google about to see if it is there, or matters.

Always hard to compare battery life/usage between people - only way for you to know is to try. If Liberty is running over the new GB OTA release, all you have to do is backup, wipe and install. If Liberty is Froyo, you'll need to SBF back to stock Froyo, do the GB OTA, then install (instructions in the OP).

Here's the Netflix fix (from Rev) if anyone wants to edit their build.prop file (in /System):

The line that needs to be commented out is at the end of the build.prop file...you can put a # in front of it as below to comment it out.

...
ro.config.alarm_alert=Alarm_Beep_03.ogg
ro.modversion=CyanogenMod-7.1.0-RC0-DROID2-KANG
# ro.kernel.android.checkjni=1
ro.setupwizard.mode=OPTIONAL
dalvik.vm.dexopt-flags=m=y
net.bt.name=Android
dalvik.vm.stack-trace-file=/data/anr/traces.txt

Worked perfectly, 1.3 netflix now works.

I've attached a totally stock, CM7GB build.prop file with that one edit made. You can replace your existing stock build.prop file with it if you want to skip editing the file yourself. Be sure to set permissions/ownership on the file the same as the existing build.prop (which you should rename). Then reboot.

The file is named as a .zip file but it's not, simply delete the .d2.zip at the end, it's a simple build.prop text file. I did this and Netflix 1.3 plays perfectly fine again.

If you're running Jake's mods then you either need to edit your own file, as this build.prop has none of his customizations.

If none of this makes sense to you, then don't do it. :)
