Being rooted shouldn't be a problem when installing an OTA, you just simply lose it afterwards. If you applied the OTA successfully from the stock recovery system and you're in a bootloop, I would recommend performing a factory reset. It doesn't sound like you're too far down the rabbit hole yet.
Already done two factory resets and wiped the cache a few times as well. I'm going to try loading a different update zip as soon as I get the chance in the off chance that the download wasn't successful over FTP.
Huh. Yeah, if it installed successfully through the stock system and you've done some resets that would be the next best step. Verizon says the update is 356MB, I downloaded the one off of MyFishBear's server and it's 355.somethingMB
