The "New" New Phone Rumor Mill

So the Nexus post has gotten to be pretty beastly with all of the specs and links... I was thinking about implementing a new system for keeping tack of stuff, but wanted y'alls input.
The biggest problem is the monstrous amount of links so I was considering a table setup with columns for links concerning different specs of the rumored phone. Possibly one for release date links, one for general specs related links, one for official name related links, and a 4th for links that deal with an combination thereof (those could jut be posted multiple times for each of the columns they fit into). Additionally, each link would be subject to a standardized naming convention. Something like "Date-Source-Original Poster" so for the BGR article this morning, it would be "10/6/11 - BGR - Arkbird/Jahmakan" and it would be under the "Specs" column.
What do you think of this? Do you guys have any other ideas that would make the individual "rumor profile" posts a bit easier to look at?

Honestly... simply a Rumor and Confirmed chart works for me. Link it to the respective thread on these forums for the phone itself and call it a day. The links and everything are making that front page a little bit cluttered. I think a simple display of rumored specs and confirmed specs would do. If someone is really curious enough to look up old links to rumored specs they can follow the link to the "Droid Prime" forums (for example) and see all the links there.

Not to mention... someone can flip through this forum to find the links. I honestly like the links, and like your idea Trus, It has been a clusterduck(ducks in a pond...no relation to the bad word the same name :wink

It would clean it up quite a bit and now that you say that, I hardly ever go back and read through the links. But something you said does lead me to another question. Should we keep following a phone until official announcement or official release? We rarely have any "confirmed" specs until the official release event, at which point pretty much everything is confirmed and the rest is history and the the baton is passed over to the device thread.

Looks great, and definitely til the official announcement. Their will be an official phone thread created after that in the news section anyway. I dout much will change between announcement and release. (unless your the bionic)
haha... yeah, he was just saying for most cases, when the phone gets announced, we will stop following it here(as in the rumor mill) and start in the specific sub-forum... that just wasn't the case for the bionic.

Those GSMarena specs...I cant see Samsung going with a different gpu already. I can see the OMAP tho since it already uses a PowerVR. Who knows tho..

Its amazing how many rumors surround this phone. Its almost like info overload. What should we believe? Logic or hope? Logic says the phone does not support samsungs chip, and will have what google announced would be the officially supported cpu TI Omap.. I want to believe its a sammy 1.5ghz....but thats probably not the case. The camera IMO is up in the air. maybe its an 8mp maybe not. at least we know most the sources agree that it has an upgraded camera sensor. I think it would be smart for sammy to use their new chip but i dout it would happpen on this phone.
Now that's more like it. Is it the 11th yet so we can no indefinitely? Lol.

... I would hope that the people familiar with the matter instead of saying that the specs are wrong would say what they are referring to a different device, gotta love adding to the confusion i guess.
