The "New" New Phone Rumor Mill

Besides, I wasn't sure if you had to give back the first one and I had already made my own "Volume rocker hole" with a hobby knife.

Yeah, I modified mine too. They do not ask you to return it.

Haha, they actually told me in their email to go ahead and cut out the rocker panel while I wait for my new cover to come :)

Hands On Video: ASUS Padfone – Is It a Phone? Tablet? Or BOTH?

...I would imagine a carrier like Verizon Wireless wouldn’t take so well to a smartphone that could transform into a tablet, circumventing the need for a separate tablet data plan. Guess we’ll have to see.

I know this threat gets thrown around a lot and I probably won't be looking to buy it anyways but, if VZW doesn't carry the padfone and there is an LTE version on other carriers, that would almost be enough for me to want to jump ship on principle alone. I could almost see VZW carrying this product and using it to launch the all new "Integrated Tether Package" which requires an extra $30 a month if you want to use data on the tablet portion.

Verizon has made me so cynical.

A lot of people use that same argument for wired tether to a laptop or wireless tether to their tablet... the line is definitely blurry on this. One of the reasons I think it is BS that AT&T was/is charging an extra $30 a month "tether packages" to use a laptop dock with their smartphones....

I'll be happy once we get self healing screens! The GsIII looks pretty impressive, but the bezel looks too thin for it's own good. If that falls wrong it's all over!

Sent from the best phone on Verizon!
