Reread his post. He needs a "slider" which means he needs a physical keyboard. Unless I missed it from your link, that doesnt have a physical keyboard. Am I wrong? I could be.

Same here. We barely get any service on our farm, since it's waaaaay out in BFE. I guess I'll most likely get it, but I'll still probably hold off for not buying it on release day. It was kind of a kick in the coin purse to order the Droid 3 as soon as it was available and then have it go buy one, get one free about a month later.

Absolutely not! I honestly don't care about the bootloader or roms or rooting one bit. I like a phone that I can take out of the box and it works without me having to do anything. Also, I attempted for the first time ever to go without a physical keyboard when the Thunderbolt came out, and it made me want to club baby seals. I can't handle not having a physical keyboard.

Just correcting ignorance on an internet forum
If you go to the Razr section, there are several subforums, one is the Razr Maxx. Why? Because it falls under the Razr branding. Just as if there might be a Droid 4 Maxx, it would fall under the Droid 4 section.
Now if they call it a Droid 5 Maxx then it wouldn't have anything to do with the 4. So it would have its own section. Or if they called it a Droid-to-the-Maxx, it would have its own section.
But assumptions made by others (as I don't believe there will be one) is that it will be called a Droid 4 Maxx.

i am getting it release day i think. I am getting it at bestbuy, and because i went against my wifes advice and spent money on high priced electronics i now have silver status which gives me 45 days to return. so if anything funny say ... a droid 4 maxx is on the horizon (which i highly doubt) then i will be able to return and go back to my droid 2 global i just had to get a few weeks ago due to my og droids screen dying.

Thanks, I went to the Moto home screen and it has a few main spotlighted phones. The first is the RAZR maxx, then swipe to the left and it shows the Razr, then one more swipe and its the DROID 4. That has to be a good sign.

so i think i may have bad news those projected dates of 8th or 9th are sounding more realistic. i talked to a guy on twitter who states he recieved an email back from a verizon employee who states the date is the 9th. i hate verizon for this bs... well i hope this is wrong and it gets released the 2nd
And none of my sources at bestbuy or vzw retailers have seen any stock as of yesterday

Its a known fact that Verizon employees know less then us. I would take very little stock in that. I said very little because it's possible. But again why no leak of that date elsewhere?

there is a few mentions of that date around twitter... kellex of droid-life has mentioned it and a few others... the bestbuy connections are friends and family that work there and they have not seen any stock but that could always show up tommorow .... they could be trying to avoid a gnex presale event lol.... verizon connection is a friends gf that works there and nothing has been mentioned or arrived. I hope i am very wrong

I don't follow those on twitter. But they could say any date. Not trying to argue, but that happened with other phones. If the current week it didn't show up in stock rooms they said the next week, then repeat until its true.
I do think the 9th is a valid date because they could adverise during the superbowl and build up excitment. And someone mentioned the D3 special ends on the 6th.
However the sooner the better.
so I'm hoping for the 2nd.

oh i completely agree and the twitter stuff i take with a grain of salt but no phone stock is a very bad sign, although i never asked if they got the accessories yet... if they got those there is a good chance the 2nd looks good
