The Official DF Droid 4 Pre-Release Thread

I bought my OD two days after the initial release in November 2009 and have had just over two years of excellent service from the phone. It continues to serve me well, but I have been thinking of a replacement.
I checked out a GN yesterday and while it's a nice phone, I really need a physical keyboard. From what I've read here and elsewhere, the D4 sounds like a wonderful upgrade to my OD. Other than ICS, the D4 has most of the high end specs I would need. And, I'm sure Motorola Mobile (Google owned) will be working to get ICS on our D4 soon.
When talking to a sales agent at the Lynnwood, WA Verizon store just yesterday, I asked if the D4 was dropping this Thursday (22). He just smiled and said "We'll see". I hate it when they do that.
Thanks to you posters for all the intersting input. How refreshing it is to read positive comments. Let's hope by this weekend we"ll all be singing the praises of our new "Best friend".

Like others I still have the OG Droid 1 , still running fine , everything works , camera button Gold worn off and normal wear and tear is all .

I thought the 2.8" was how thick it was. But not sure about the 5.0" x5.0 inches.

Yeah, there are a few typos...no space in "stabilized1080p" and of course the depth is supposed to be 0.5, not 5.0

Tomorrow's the day folks. Verizon always launches their phones on Thursdays and Motorola always issues a press release the Wednesday before. So hopefully 12 hours from now we will have good news!

I find this very hard to believe since there is so much information about this phone already out and they are already testing and it has passed FCC. However if it has gotten delayed, I can almost guarantee it is all verizon's fault. Moto has this thing ready to go but verizon wants to sell more crappy Stratosphere's first.....Thanks a lot verizon....

Actually there is no delay.

If they were going by dates of the line of Droids, this wouldn't be out until May or June.

Coming out before then is early.

i doubt there trying to go in line with other releases, they are probably trying to fix what the droid 3 shoudl have been as fast as possible
if this phone came in out june 2012 its specs would be a year old
