15 it is people. Please have faith and believe in the almighty

Verizon...

For real, rep at the corporate store confirmed to me the 15th for sure.

I'm sure that same Rep was saying the 9th last week. I'm not believing any dates unless it's an official statement of release directly from Verizon or Google. If Verizon was 100% confident in the 15th, why wouldn't they just have come out and said this will be the day? The 15th is just another "target date."

So this is kind of important, because the OMAP4460 has to switch between two ways of clocking between 1ghz and up it seems we can't get OC kernels that run under 1GHz when it is not needed.

The MPU DPLL is supposed to be run at 2.4GHz and the clock generator should divide by two for a 1.2GHz clock and it seems most phones won't go above around a 2.8GHz threshold which means that they need to clock with the DCC (allows for clocking w/o dividing by 1/2) e.g. 1.2GHz = 1.2GHz but as soon as the chip goes bellow the designated 1GHz the MPU DPLL is unable to clock to such a low speed so it disables the DCC but the OMAP chip seems to crash whenever disabling DCC.

So it seems to over clock you can't ever go bellow 1GHz if you want to keep the DCC enabled.

Man I hope they get this issue figured out. It would be a shame to have a cpu clocked at 1.5 that is limited to 1.2.

Well you could clock it far past 1.5GHz easily, but if you did, the lowest you could go would be 1GHz. It would be bad for the battery but for power users you can still get to 1.8GHz+ if you are willing to keep your chip clocked at above 1GHz indefinitely.

I love my Droid1 and the many custom roms and titanium back up.
It is my understanding that the new moto phones (bionic and razr) have a locked bootloader, so they are very limited in what you can do. So if I wanted complete control of my phone, then the Nexus is the phone to have?

If you are looking to have the same amount of control as the D1 where you were able to flash custom kernels then I would say yes indeed.

That is what I was looking for, but I didn't see anything like that from big red. Do they have any unlocked phones on the market? ?

Typically HTC and Samsung phones are. Off hand now they have the t-bolt, inc 2, and the charge. Not sure about the rezound, I have not followed anything about that device.

My Verizon store just said it should be out in Q4. I said what about the 15th and she hesitated like she knew I was right but didn't want to admit it. She also said they had the phone but couldn't have it out on the floor so I couldn't play with it.

O yea and while I was there I messed around with the RAZR and went into browser. It was on a blank white page and I could see burn in from the icons that were on the homescreen.
