The Official DF Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release Thread

Ok here is what my friend said when she got her called today. Take it for what its worth i think the 15th is the day.

"He said he got a call from the corporate people that said it'll be there and for sale the 15th. He's holding one for me, and I have an appointment with him at 10am to go get it. That's what time he comes in that day."

Okay.. Just left the Verizon store with a New Phone.. Sorry. it's not the Nexus. They did confirm they have a lot of the Nexus phones in the back, just collecting dust. The rep said he has herd the 15, but he has not seen anything official. He said they have not even had any training on the phone yet. Due to no training, nothing on the Verizon website for release date, or pre-order, I went ahead and got the Rezound. I don't think it will be released this week.

Now, for the Rezound, it's really much higher quality then the Rarz. I think I'm going to like it. With that being said, when the Nexus does come out, I am going to go and look at it. I have until January 15 to trade it in.

Does anyone?

Even when the sources are wrong, they're coming from Verizon corporate employees. The 9th was obviously the target release date, so those sources were correct as the phones are in store. The most recent 15th date was from an email sent to all stores from Verizon. There's a difference between just lying and being wrong after using a source from Verizon.

Well, yes, most do, whether it is a VZW exec/mgt, VZW store employee, device tester, or something of that sort.... obviously we are all entitled to post our opinions and/or feelings, but it would be nice to lead your statement with "I have a feeling that....." or "I have been told that...." because it can really change how people take your post...

To me, I don't discount the "rumor" that the 9th was the release date as bogus, because at the time, the release date WAS the 9th. Then things changed, that doesn't make the original plan meaningless from beginning to end, just no longer relevant. As of right now, I consider the 15th to be relevant and correct until any new information is released that is contrary to it no matter what my pessimistic brain is telling me. They said the 9th because that was the original release date and devices were being shipped, so they had to say something, but had to change it when everything else changed. From that point on, they haven't had to say anything else and could just sit back quietly until everything was settled. But this isn't the case, for whatever reason, some reps have been given the go ahead to start announcing dates.

Meh, I'll believe it when I see it. There's too much drama surrounding this phone. I think there is A LOT more to the story than we think we know. There's obviously a lot of senior management involvement here, because employees are clueless and there's been no official word on this phone since it was unveiled two months ago. It was supposed to be released on the 9th and it wasn't. It's wasn't due to the 4G issue. If this is something having to do with Google Wallet, that's a legal issue. And things like this do NOT get resolved in one week. There's a lot of politics going on behind closed doors that nobody knows about. That's why I'm skeptical of all these supposed dates now.

Verizon may just manage to completely screw up this launch and not allow us to ever see a Nexus device on their network. Makes no difference to them. People will eventually settle with another phone. They know majority of people won't switch just for a phone. I wouldn't. Without a good network the phone will be a POS no matter how cool it is.

Just called back my reseller who took my name stating release on Tuesday, and he said delayed a few days and will call when it is ready at end of the week lmao.

I've had my screen protector ordered, not going with a case though.

Just hope I get to use it...ever.

Yeah a bit hesitant to order....

I want to put it on as soon as I take off the packaging protector, minimize chances of getting dust on it and no need to do any cleaning that way.

im buying accessories at the store. with the 2 living social coupons i have. Yes, i did find a way to bypass the system :D. i get 100 and still only spend $25:D only problem is that vzw accessories are crappy and overpriced.

I'm still sticking with the nexus isn't going to be released until Tim tebow wants it to be released
