The Official DF Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release Thread

I was just at best buy looking at video games and I decided to ask about the nexus and was told it would be the 20th and he'd be surprised if it actually came out then. But then the same guy went on the blame the delays on the us government lol

Sent from my DROID2 using Tapatalk

I bet with a little bit of research, one could figure out what forum/blog someone frequents by what release date and cause of delay they think they know...

Just called a third corporate store around my house and the rep said the 15th. All of them say the 15th. Pretty much this is it guys unless Verizon pulls another one on us at the last minute

Well the problem with another targeted release date is we're assuming the problem is actually with the phone(which I don't think it is). If it's a legal problem aka Google Wallet restriction, then they will keep pushing it back weekly until their lawyers resolve the legal issues.

Only reason I don't agree with this is that there have been 3 or 4 cases now of Corp. Stores saying the date is the 15th. If they didn't actually anticipate this happening because of continued legal issues, they would still be sticking with the "No new info at this time" line.

Instead of trying to explain it here's a good link Block C | xda-developers

So reading this it says that it prevents the carrier from restricting anything on the device (not allowing Wallet) so what is Verizon going to do? Keep holding the device until Google lets them?

Thank you for posting the link. I remember reading this quite a while ago and as all this Google Wallet/block C/frequency talk started I couldn't help but get worried. I had forgotten the specifics and what to search to be shamefully honest. A lot of people are blowing this off, but I can't help but think Verizon is gonna fight like crazy, it would be a big blow (to them) if they don't. As usual, when the big boys fight, we are left suffering. Hopefully I am more worried than I should be.

I don't see how that can delay the phone though. Its just a app. It doesn't really have anything with launching the phone.

Thanks for the explanation on Block C. After reading that and knowing what they have done to Moto devices after the OG Droid and all HTC devices, and now this Google Wallet shenanigans, I am afraid that this phone will never see the light of day on Verizon's network. They feel the need to have too much control over devices that the Nexus is sort of antithetical to their business model. :frown:

The problem with this is all of these stores said the 9th as well, Corporate stores don't know anymore information than they did before. They were told that the 9th was the target release date and sent out emails to their distributors as such, they've now done the same thing for the 15th with the same information as before.

Just write "I want a Galaxy Nexus. Where is my Galaxy Nexus" for every answer and hopefully the prof will be sympathetic to your situation and pass you out of pity.
I almost did cause I spoke to my prof about the phone once, he's waiting on it too:D

and it was multiple choice...hard to spell out nexus lol

it'll be funny if verizon was the one starting these rumors everytime so they can keep us "interested" in the phone and not change out to another phone. But they really know the release date is like March 24 2012 LOL
