Meanwhile... the Verizon marketing team is laughing together as they read this thread... the CIA can't keep secrets this tight! Oh wait... Wikileaks...
I'm fine with december 8 but I want an announcement. I don't want to rely on a rumor. Odds are if the phone doesn't come out by november, either google, samsung, or verizon has got to make an announcement saying why we can't buy it at the announced date of november.

I didn't think so. In my mind they don't have to say anything. And it is smart for them not to. They never gave a date, so why appologize for a delay that... isn't really a delay? That being said, I really want a date!
And that's really the problem - there is not one ounce of 100% truth to go off of with this stuff, so rumors run rampant, threads like this go crazy, those "in the know" vaguely tell us things that are more of a tease than anything else, info pours in from all kinds of sources, and it ends up being our attempt to put together a puzzle that may or may not even fit together.
There's some truth to the idea that truth will set you free...
I am a bit disappointed that Matias Duarte didn't know what he was talking about when it came to when we would be able to buy this phone. I know he doesn't work for Verizon but I would think he would at least have reliable information.

He very well could've been going off of what he knew at the time. Despite this being a Google phone, it seems pretty clear to me that Verizon is calling the shots on the release, and I'd be willing to guess pretty much everything but the phone itself.
