Definitely stay friends... if nothing else we can invade Rubik's "whatever thread" in the off-topic forum or we could start our own "Survivor's of the Great Nexus Release of 2011" thread and talk about how all the new members have it easy because their phone came out after it was announced and back in our day we had to wait OVER A MONTH to get the phone that we wanted (after walking uphill both ways in the snow yadda yada yadda)

I like the sencond idea. And lol, "Yeah, I remember when it could take up to a month and a half of waiting till we could get our phone. You young wipper snappers have it so easy.".

Just in case it isn't released tomorrow, they have prepared the staff for the worse. Riot gear, sniper rifles & tear gas has been issued.

my informant, told me to come in tomorrow at 9am to get mine. He said he thinks he heard his DM say on a conference call that the 15th was the date. he said if we needed to abort the mission he would text me. i haven't heard anything yet on aborting.

Hopefully I'm not thread jacking and this post in the right spot. Anyways I've been a reader of this website since buying an Eris on launch day but I've finally decided to join the forum so hopefully I can fit in. Anyways, like most of you I'm after the galaxy nexus and hoping to get a good deal for it. I asked a mall rep at a third party retailer called diamond wireless when he was going to have it in and he said its looking like Friday for them. So I asked him what kind of deal he could offer and said he could do maybe 40 off the phone plus a $30 ne2 discount I believe, and for example if a case costs 30 he could bring it down to about $10. Same for screen protectors and chargers. It seems like a good deal to me but I've never dealt with 3rd party retailers and am wondering if it is worth it or not. He told me that as soon as he's allowed to sell it, he'll call me to come in. You guys think it would be worth it? I'd appreciate any advice and hopefully this post is now in the right spot.

I don't feel like looking through the 15 pages since I was last here. So if this was already posted... which it probably was... I'm sorry.

"The Facebook page for the Mobile Generation Verizon Wireless retail location in Bloomington, Minnesota had some news posted about Big Red's version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. According to the post, the phone is to launch on December 15th. Of course, Verizon has not actually sent out any official launch date for the first Ice Cream Sandwich powered phone, but what the heck, perhaps someone at the Mobile Generation outlet accidentally revealed a company secret. After all, as we reported, Verizon is apparently telling store managers to expect the GALAXY Nexus to launch this Thursday.

And that would be exactly where our story ends except that the picture of the phone allegedly used by the store, shows the GSM model of the device and of course Verizon handsets use CDMA technology. So we will continue to wait for Big Red to make the announcement that everyone is waiting for on pins and needles. As for the third party reseller in Minnesota, we put in a couple of calls to see if we could get some kind of response from them, but so far we are still waiting a call back."

A few leaks from employees and third party retailers point towards tomorrow. Nothing pointing otherwise (yet). Remain cautiously hopeful.
