Are you guys just buying it and leaving? Or letting VZW activate it? Don't really want VZW using MY phone, that I've been waiting for, before I get to..

I am going to try to buy and leave. I have activated phones before but hope they don't go all anal about it. I'm with you about them messing with it before me.

I'll let them handle the activation. I don't mind sitting and talking to the employee for a little while they activate it for me. Sometimes they have issues activating the SIMs so I don't want to get home and have any issues and have to go back.

Agreed, I've had to do it myself before as well. So I think I should be able to handle it.. all you do is go on Verizon, select your phone you're upgrading to(in some cases downgrading), type that.. code in on the back of the battery, and bam. Hopefully they won't freak out about and go, "No.. I think you should have us do it..).

Is that possible? If i could avoid the $35 activation fee and do it myself I def would. Considering ill be buying one on my lunch break, i doubt ill even have the time for them to activate it.

I can't wait to get my Nexus tomorrow. It is kind of a bitter sweet moment though, I am going to miss my OG Droid. Sure the volume button doesn't work so my options are vibrate or full blast, and it freezes, and doesn't sometimes doesn't notify me of texts until a couple of hours later, or ring when I get a call. But, it has be a rock for two years, and I have beat it pretty bad. :icon_ banana:

I'm buying it, activating it myself in the store, then rooting it with my laptop in front of the entire staff. Maybe a pressed ham against the store window when I leave, just for the wait!

If your going from a 3g to a 4g device they're going to be jerks about activation, because they have to scan the new 4g sim card. I went from DX to Rezound and tried to get out with out activation but they would have rather not even sold me the phone. Strange.

Just got off the phone with my local corporate store, they'll have it in stock. I asked about whether or not she thought I'd need to arrive early because of stock, and she said something along the lines of "I've got enough stock that I'd worse problems if a line formed" (presumably not enough staff to handle the demand?), and "just come in some tomorrow".

woot!

What's this I've been hearing about $100 off switching from 3g to 4g? Is this true? And will it apply going from my DX to the GNex

Sent from your mom's house using my Galaxy Nexus... is what my signature would say if they would hurry and release the damn thing!

I can't see why they wouldn't let someone activate the phone whenever they want to, like buy it, walk out and activate when ready. If you order online the phone comes to your door and you activate the phone yourself. But if you have probs then you take it to the store. I may want to just fondle that beauty for a few minutes before throwing the switch :in love:
