The Official DF Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release Thread

Just left my local store and they wouldn't freakin hold one for me. :furious:They told me first come first serve.

I have to go in at 9AM when they open.

You might want to check their hours.

Every store within 20 miles of me opens at 10:00 wednesdays and thursdays. 9:00 all other days

Really weird since thursdays are their normal new product day...

I have 1 being held for p/u @ 10:00am (opening)! Also, I have a buyer for my D3 that is going to make the purchase tomorrow!

I'm pretty pumped. My pessimistic attitude paid off, now I'm pleasantly surprised and excited.

I just hope my local store doesn't run out by the time they get there. They don't open til 11am I think, and I don't get out of work til about 3 or 4. I will be super pissed if they sell out.

Your pessimistic attitude paid off?

I'm pretty sure you would have been just as disappointed if it had been delayed again, and the difference is us optimists have been a bright and shining ray of sunshine lifting up our fellow GN followers. So not exactly sure where that pessimism might have paid off.

She specifically told me that they open at 9AM tomorrow. So I'll be there at 8:55. lol

When I asked about holding one, my local one said there hasn't been many inquiries about the nexus...maybe Verizon's silence will pay off for me, I'll still be calling in the morning to see if they'll hold one for me, I'm driving to work (normally take the train), and am ready to break some speed laws getting to the store after getting off work...

I plan on waiting at least a week from release for all the crap thats wrong with it to come to the surface! My D1 will last another 7 days without question!

Just read this in Engadget...

Additional features: o. Dual-core 1.2 GHz application processor and HTML5 Web browser -

So, this phone won't have Flash? I've heard that it will but it clearly states HTML5...

Negative. I expected it to be a fail when everyone else was saying confirmed/official for the 9th. Not really much of a letdown cuz I knew it wasn't gonna happen.

This time however, didn't expect it to happen again, and now I am pleasantly surprised.

My D1 would definitely last another 7 days but I don't want it to last another 10 minutes......well ok maybe like 12 hours and 40 minutes.

Is Verizon still buying phones??? I would like to sell my HTC TB but I don't want to use ebay or craigslist... I'll rather get a couple bucks less and just get over with it.

Ok, just got back from VZW Zone.

1. There is no activation fee when upgrading a device. The activation fee is a one time fee when starting a new line(or if your phone gets shut off due to nonpayment).

2. The camera is SICK! I played with it for a good 15-20 minutes. The key is to hold it steady, when trying to take 50 pictures in a second your jerking the phone since they did away with the shutter button on the side of the phone and went with the onscreen button. The pictures were crisp and clear, every one of them. Panorama is awesome, and it shot awesome videos too.

There wasn't really anything else I could do with it since they literally just took it out of the box for me to see so it wasn't activated nor could I use wifi(encrypted). I can verify there are only the two Verizon apps that we knew about already on it, that's it. Comes with ICS 4.0.1. Doesn't feel cheap or "plasticy", it's actually quite comfortable, light and thin. Didn't feel too big either. Screen was mind-blowing, no "screen door" effect what-so-ever. The transitioning was super fast and it handled everything from opening/exiting apps to switching home screens with ease. I'm 1000% getting this phone tomorrow, through hell or high water, nothing is going to stop me or change my mind.

Thanks Blazed!
