Just got off the phone with scott at my verizon store and he got my number for the upgrade. I cannot get there till after 5 so he needed my numbet to ring it up to hold it for me. He just texted me, my nexus will be waiting for me. They cant hold phones without ringing them up.

So i have a nexus already!!! I beat you guys...lololol.

It's funny, I thought about walking out of the store tomorrow and throwing my OG on the ground as I walk to my car, but you know what? It's probably the best piece of technology I've ever purchased in my life.

Maybe I'll encase it in bronze and hang it on the wall.

I concur. It feels like i just want to be rid of it but its so amazing i cant throw it against a wall.

After all the phone has been through with you guys....how could you be so heartless? Intentionally hurting my OG never crossed my mind, kept it in pristine condition. Too bad I let my sister use it for a year and that didn't turn out well....

The release of this phone pretty much will retire the rest of the D1's that are still in use! It's kind of bitter sweet. I am sure some people will still be using their D1 but it's been 2 years now since the D1 came out and the D1 was born with us and now is kind of dying with us when we all upgrade.

lol, my phone is actually running very well and prepped for a shelf life. I actually optimized it instead of not just going with stock roms wince i wont really be switching much now.

i am keeping my D1 as a back up and maybe tinker with it to learn to root a phone

My D1 will be transformed in to my permanent bed clock.

And if you haven't rooted before, the D1 is the best phone to practice on. There is a ton of info out there for it. You can't mess it up.

I wonder why this launch feels so exciting. I was excited about the Bionic launch but nothing like this. I think ICS has me excited because it's such a refreshing change from past versions of Android and I've had the OG for 2 years, it feels ancient to me in terms of how long I usually have tech.

Hopefully we get 4.1 soon, it seems like it improves the Nexus a great deal.

:blink: your running stock stock. OOoooo a phone that's still got its cherry. :hail: I went with root a long time ago. kind of hard to resist the urge to rebel against the man (VZ) to stick with froyo. lol i guess i was rooted way before froyo though. more like 2.1.
