Well lets just hope that it would work even if the phone completely freezes, this is the main problem I forsee with this phone in that case you'd be stuck until the battery died

supercharged modified liquid 3.1 w/turbocharged 3g
Pete's 5 slot lv 1.25GHz w/ kickasskernel tweaks

Besides from base software/minor component differences this phone is no different than my Motorola Xoom. And that has no pull-able Battery. It has frozen on me several times and the force reboot always works, why would you think this to be any different?

Oh, I didn't know they already used this idea on android devices so I wasn't sure exactly how reliable it would be, I guess if its already been used on the Xoom then there shouldn't be any issues...now the only issue with a nonremovable battery is you can't get an extended battery, right?

Right. But you could always get one of these. Not quite as practical but would get you through the entire day without the need of an outlet or car charger.

Love this phone..finally retired my OG Droid...can't figure out how to use the front face camera for video chat..can someone point me in the right direction? :icon_ banana:

Open the camera app. On the right (next to the shutter/take picture "button") is an icon that switches to the video chat/self portrait camera. I found that while playing with the demo unit @ Best Buy. I'm not sure if that same button is there in the app that you're using to video chat with, but that's in the actual camera app.

Thanks...now if I can get the video chat to work..I'll be a little happier ..awesome phone just a little difficult to master right now.

Most video chat apps are 3rd party, so they should automatically choose the camera that faces you. Or it should at least have a similar spot to tap & switch cameras.

My wife has an Iphone4 and we were trying to make this work this morning. The RAZR had "Talk" which is a google app I believe while her phone had "Face time" or something. We both ended up installing the app Tango which is free. It worked great (morning breath, bed-head, and all)!

Got mine yesterday. Gotta say I'm a bit disappointed. It keeps freezing when using it. It turns on and off on it's own, even during calls. I'm a first time smart phone user, so I realize I have a lot to learn, but seems to me this isn't normal. I also realize with it being a 'new phone' on the market, there will probably be some bugs, but.. after reading your comments, I would think mine should be working better. Going back to the store today.:frown:

^Yea...thats definitely a defective unit.

For some reason I've been lucky over the years to get decent working devices, electronics the first time. In all my years of using mobile phones I only had to return 1 defective phone, and that was a bad ESN number on Verizon. I got the Droid X1 at launch, no major issues I've read other had. I pre ordered the RAZR and so far no major issues as others have had.

Love the Razr, except that my corporate email requires encryption, so the phone is trying to encrypt the SD card and has been doing so for 4.5 hours now and has not finished, and does not give any sort of status. Yesterday when I set the phone up the first time, I had to do a factory wipe and restore to clear it. So I set up my corporate email again, and it is now spending all day trying to encrypt the SD card, making it unusable, as if it is not even installed or mounted.

Very frustrating. I moved all my pics and music to the internal storage and if this doesn't finish, I may have to just yank out the SD card and resign myself to having this phone limited to the internal storage, which is a shame for a brand new cutting edge phone...

Add me to the list... picked up a Razr this morning coming from a two year old Droid. If this phone gives half the service that the OG did for me it will be one hell of a phone!

got mine a few hours ago...it replaces my og droid..i am planning on spending quite a bit of time with it tonite and tmrw..it has been charging since i got home..it is very difficult to walk past it and not play with it..its at 90% so i am almost there...
