★ The Official "I got my Droid RAZR Thread" ★

I've played with for about a day. I was going to use this til nexus arrived but i may keep it. I didn't think id like it soo much.
My last phone was a Blackberry Torch' that was stolen. That phone is a joke compared to this. I've never had an Android phone.

This is absolutly the most wonderful phone i have ever owned. i work for my state government and i must say it's the most amazing thing i ever had. If your in some type of business or work for a corporation, I do recommend this phone.

I picked up the Razr at Costco yesterday and I must say that I am very impressed. I was very critical of the Bionic screen, but the Razr is a huge improvement. If you look very close, specifically at the 4g LTE logo, you can still see some pixels, but it's not noticeable from normal viewing distance like it was on the Bionic. I also don't have a problem with the dim screen like some have mentioned. After first checking out the Razr at a Verizon store, when I looked at my OG Droid it was nowhere near the quality of the Razr. While in the store we compared it to my wife's TB, and the Razr was just as bright, if not brighter. Also, while I thought the size was more of a gimmick, I am truly amazed by how light and thin this phone is. Even though it's larger than the OG Droid, it fits in my pocket so much better, and honestly I hardly notice it is there.

All that said, I am still heavily in the Nexus camp. I was very honest with the guy at Costco and inquired about their exchange/warranty policy. He assured me that I could exchange for the Nexus *if they get it* within 90 days. If Costco never carries the Nexus, or it doesn't drop in 90 days, I have no issues about my decision. The Razr is a great device and I will be happy regardless.

EDIT: I just wanted to add that anyone with unlimited data picking up a device at Costco (this might go for anywhere), be sure to make it known you want to keep unlimited data. The guy who helped me was awesome and verified, but he said that he was prompted to switch me to a 4GB 'promotion' but he knew well enough to bypass this.

I was concernEd about the size as well but I must say the thinnest of it makes it really manageable. The build quality is outstanding and so far it works flawlessly for me. Battery life is good but could be better. It does not bother me as I have chargers at home work and car.

Got my razr on Friday

What an awesome phone. I had my X for almost two years and this is soooo much better. Typing on my wifi only Xoom right now while hooked up BT to my Razr for internet. We don't have 4g here yet so my speedtest.net says 2.1 mbps but yesterday I drove 5 miles to where there is 4g and consistent 16-22 mbps!!!!!! Crazy fast phone too. Screen is awesome. Feels sturdy. I got the lapdock but took it back - touchpad is aweful and so is the screen. I will stick with my Xoom for that. Overall very glad I got it and still have my unlimited plan.

camera lens worries

No, It appears there's a slightly (.7 mm or so) raised bezel around the lens. Shouldn't be a problem unless you're pushing it around on asphalt or some less than smooth surface.

Camera's about the same as the OG - nicer resolution, but about the same (not so hot) in low light. Flash is the same.

Alphamale743 - comparison

I've only played with the Bionic in the store, but my impression was the RAZR is closer to the iPhone in terms of speed and cleanness of actions. When I played with the Bionic, it just felt like there was the slightest hesitation.

RAZR's speakers are definitely louder, though some say a tad tinny. I haven't noticed that yet. I had an OG DROID, and that speaker was THE PHATTY!!!!!!

Transitioning from the OG DROID to RAZR - I'm gonna miss my OG speaker for playing music to fill a room, but I'm not looking back. I've found this machine to be smooth, fast and fairly bug-free, though I have a few I want to squash if I can find out where they live.

First: Going through setup and linking to facebook and twitter fills your contact list with so much crap. I guess some people may think of random things to tweet to @hotgril247 or whatever, when I click the phone contacts I just want to find people to dial. It's made me use the favs much more (only had the wife on fav before). I knew how to cut that out on my OG, but there's no Sync option in settings here. Any help?

Bloatware is pretty sad, at least two screens of unnecessary icons.

I also wish there were options to deny access to GPS or internet for silly apps that don't need that. I don't want my phone to be a high-tech me-tracker.

any thoughts?

Got my new RAZR yesterday after debating on waiting until my upgrade date in March 2012. The other day i went to the vzw corp store to get a few things for my XOOM and asked about the RAZR. After talking to the rep for a while and at the check out the rep mentioned the 3g to 4g upgrade promo that i could use to get the RAZR. after much debate with myself I broke down and did the 3g to 4g promo upgrade.

love the phone and will not return it.. :icon_ lala:

Broke down lastnight and bought the Razr. Coming from an HTC Eris, the size and speed are nice upgrades. But Motorola's UI is no where near as "user friendly" as that on the HTC phones. My wife's Thunderbolt and my Eris were easy and simple to customize. The Razr....not so much. Widgets I was used to having on HTC aren't even on the Razr...and nothing even similar to use in their place. No phone techie here....normal user. So rooting, etc are things I know nothing about. I use the phone as configured except for customizing and adding apps. Still getting used to the layout, larger size, and features. Going to take a bit, but I'll get used to it. Side-by-side download "race" vs an iPhone 4s at Best Buy lastnight showed the Razr was lots faster...on 4g. Should have tested it at 3g since I don't have 4g were I live...need to drive 1/2 hr minimum to get 4g service.

Suh-weet!

Got the new Droid razr on Friday. Coming from the original Droid incredible. Had all weekend to play with it, so far really awesome. Super fast, really enjoying the UI, and has not crashed or glitched once. Highly recommended.

Got mine Sat morning at Costco and have spent the weekend putting it though its paces and a quick root (see ya bloat). Fast, smooth and glich free so far. Love the screen and the camera also works very well. Used the sweep panorama mode at the beach today and the results were surprisingly good. Battery life has been decent with moderate use. Was waiting for the Nexus but the build and performance of the Razr and ICS coming soon, it's a keeper.

Just ordered mine on my upgrade with loyalty discount.....$200!:icon_ banana: Should be here Wednesday. I almost bought the Bionic but decided to wait. I am not big on the non-removable battery, but I think it is a better phone. Coming back home to a Droid after spending this year with an iPhone 4. Great phone, amazing battery life, everything works; but it's just so boring....lol.
