The Ultimate Droid 1.0.0 - Droid 1 Only

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE that SWYPE is included in this ROM! I have been trying to get in the beta..but unable!! How were u able to do that? I thought it was against the rules of SWYPE? JW

This isn't the beta swype for the Droid1. This was pulled from the Droid2 and ok'd by admin here on DF.

I have the Beta, should I delete it and use the swype that comes in this ROM instead? are they the same?

This ROM is AWESOME!!!! Knock on wood i havent had LP force close either...

Great work!

I dont think most people who love rotary realize that it is still the same swipe across the screen as the regular lock screen. It is just visually more appealing for people.

Doesnt matter if you follow the button on the rotary or just grab it and slide across :-D Just sharing

Yup. Try it out just going straight across. It works. My reason for liking it is yes, it is more visually appealing. But also because the vibration for it is more subtle than the newer one. No idea why it's like that, but it is. The stronger vibration just makes it feel cheap in way, if that makes any sense.

I dunno if you all are reading my post through...

I prefer the rotary also, whether it is just visually or not, I still like it better. BUT the music controls overlap the verizon texts on the lockscreen.

Anyway to just get a theme for the lockscreen?

Yea I saw that as well. I just have it so the music controls only show up when music is playing now. Once the back and forward buttons show, the Verizon label is completely blocked out and doesn't look bad like it does with just the play button sitting in the middle of it.

The best thing about UD is that I really like the stock theme and don't have to change a thing. Everything is amazing besides the lockscreen. I don't know the reasoning behind it, but I prefer the rotary anyway which looks fine. Though, the music controls overlap the 'verizon wireless' texts.

Anybody know where I can find just a theme for the lockscreen?
:hail: BD

I prefer the rotary lockscreen because its a more natural movement to swipe with my thumb when holding the phone with one hand.

I'm sure it is the same swipe, it just "Feels" better :P

I flashed this rom right over 8 and runs well so far. I tried using the WatermarkD theme for 8 and it just kept rebooting the UD logo lol.
I re flashed to before the 1.0.0 , flashed on top of 8 and it's doing well.

kinda of a cool option, can turn off 3g!
The lock screen is awesome with the rotatory screen

Im switching over from cyanogen 6. Do i need wipe both options on the spr recovery? I think it wipe data/cache and another one. Also do i change to update.zip?

I been sporting miui since its been out and i love it ..trying to decide on trying ud again.....

i was with miui since it's release as well. grew to love it. rocked it just as a time killer until this came out. and now that it's dropped, i'm not missing miui at all. this is Sickly Fast. Didn't expect anything less. Amazing job BD.

My UD 1.0.0 opinion

Not to be rude, and no disrespect to any of the BD crew, but I did some impromptu tests myself and found that this version is slower than other releases and/or other roms out there. Maybe this should have a beta tag still? I am coming from UD 8, which I loved and was very fast, and I have run Chevy's SS, LFY, Kangerade, BB (several versions), etc. so I'm not completely new to this whole thing.

What I did were some quadrant tests based on my "feeling" of some sluggishness with this rom. I flashed the stock kernel and set the automatic overclock control as discussed earlier in this thread, as opposed to setCPU, then I downloaded and installed chevy's and slayher's newest froyo kernels. On all tests with any kernel under UD 1.0.0, I would barely get over a 900 score. This was after a complete sync with the market, email config, etc, and yes, I wiped data and cache individually 4 times, as well as the dalvik cache.

After this, I again wiped 4 times and went ahead and installed LFY 1.7 with the Slayher 1.2Ghz kernel, and I began to get 1500+ quadrant scores, and the "feel" of the system was much quicker now.

I'm no rom expert, and I appreciate all of the work the BD community has provided, so this is just one user's feedback of the experience I had with this rom, either to help improve this rom, or just as an FYI for potential "flashers".

quadrant scores mean nothing

As I said in my post, it was a confirmation of the "sluggish" feel of the rom compared to other roms, and the quadrant score was a good way for me to quantify that "feeling". Just my opinion and somewhat experienced observation to which I am entitled. Thank you.
