The Ultimate Droid 1.0.0 - Droid 1 Only

I was having the same problem. i'm a complete noob to custom roms so I figured it was something I was doing wrong. I wanted to post the question but spent have the day reading sticky posts instead.

Through my multiple downloading of the rom I noticed the first and second links go to two different files. Once I downloaded the second file everything worked as expected.


First link brings you to:
theultimatedroid-1.0.0-final-supersonic-1.0.0.zip

Second link brings you to:
theultimatedroid-1.0.0-final-droid.zip

Noticed that too. But I finally got it working, using the download link found on the ultimate droid official site.

nice rom

just cpl quick questions i seen in ud tools compcache enabled it why doesn't it auto enable i got the box checked in that window phone says it is on and set to interactive.

but when opening terminal

compcache stats

it replys

you actually have to type
compcache start will there be a patch that makes it autostart?

redline for ud will be released asap

Same deal, 57812 disk size also. (dont know if thats normal)

I was listening to some music, and started messing around with long-pressing the volume buttons to see what they would do. (im a tinkerer ) Much as i expected, they didnt do anything but change the volume. I remember reading somewhere that you can change tracks that way... maybe that was an addon in some rom.

Anyways, I think i was long pressing the "volume up" button and i must have grazed a soft touch button and suddenly, music player would only play the first second of every song. No matter what i did i couldnt get it to stop. I hit pause to stop playback, and it did... until it switched to the next song and did it all over again. I was able to reboot via the power button instead of a battery pull.

Go to Settings--> Ultimate Droid--> Audio Settings and UNCHECK the "Volume Button Music Control" option. I had the same problem with ^3 Cubed and this fixed it.

Thanks! Love the rom other wise. Looking forward to the LED notification update. The droid evolution rom that i was running prior set the led to blue... i liked that look.

Sounds like we need an update.zip

So i tried to get the updated google search from the market. These are the steps i took using root explorer

1. added .bak to googlesearch apk in /system
2. rebooted
3. installed google search from market.

However it is still not linked to my search soft key button. Pressing it gives me a small haptic vibration but doesn't open the app. The widget was all messed up too.

So is there no way to get the updated google search and have it fully working? Had the same problem with SS4.8.

The new Google Search probably needs to be packaged as as update.zip and applied through recovery.

I am also getting the error7 on when trying to install from the first link download.

(and not .zip.zip)

I like others have noticed that each link has a different file and the first link is 83.5 MB and the second is 74.4 MB.

With UD 8 I was using blue for messages and chat, magenta for email, red for missed calls, and green for appointments. Looking forward to having that back.

I flashed this last night and rolled back to UD8 after a few hours. I don't understand why functionality has been taken out of this ROM. It just has a weird feel to it with the lock screens and dialer's having their own (unchangable) background and the LED color changes have been removed which I was a HUGE fan of. Also he removed the LED notification settings from the MMS app that have been in custom ROMs for a long time now. The whole thing has a weird rushed feel to it.

Here's to hoping everything works out in his personal life and he can get back to committing more time to this. I understand how distracted he must have been when this was put together. I'm looking forward to the next release!

Thanks ! I was having the same problem too. Not sure why there are 2 different files but the 1st one does not work.
Someone should correct that so others don't have the same problem too.

Question...I have tried to install a couple of the apps like fancy weather or any of the apps from the built in apps section.. I get the pop up after clicking on install the fancy weather widget, I select yes I get another window that pops up that says running command... and then nothing else happens..the apps don't install.. any ideas?

keyboard issues

So far I'm loving this rom but I'm having trouble with the htc ime keyboard I get force closes whether I install the swype or htc keyboard but with the htc if I try to type a message it says to open keyboard to type where as the swype works fine

Yo Tuzz, Personally I would apply the HTC and then reboot. I had no issues at all with any of the keyboards except once the HTC wouldn't load so I re-applied and rebooted, worked...

I also am loving this ROM man. So snappy. No bad issues except the music player controls so far. The battery seems to be doing pretty well on my Chevy 1000 ULV as usual. I feel like I always need a few days of random use to check how battery is doing... but so far so awesome. LUNA THEME! hah.

anyone notice a decrease in signal strength? i was sitting in my lazy boy with ud and had 1 bar and no 3g. i flashed back to a different rom and went right back to 3-4 bars and 3g.

i thought it was where i was sitting so i tested this again today in a totally different location, outside of my home. i ended up with the same results.

but this rom sure does everything i need it to !

Yup, my phone spends a ton of time on 1x now. Turning airplace mode on and off doesn't help but rebooting helps for a short time.

I am also having crazy heat issues no matter what kernel I use. Not sure how I am supposed to resolve that.

I also noticed that the file hosted on blackdroidmod.com has a different filesize:

blackdroidmod.com file = 73.1MB
1st link on this board (supersonic) = 83.5MB (doesnt work)
2nd link on this board = 73.4MB

what is the difference between the blackdroidmod.com file and the 2nd link on this board???
