Browser Force Close

Closing the last window in the browser yields a force close every time. Tried rebooting, tried wiping data and cache and starting over from scratch, tried running fix permissions...nothing seems to do the trick. Is there a fix in sight?

Any fix for the Google Search update yet?

All you have to do is delete it and then download it from the market. I did it last night. If you have Titanium Backup you can remove it using that as the market will not let you do it.

Didn't work. In fact, I can't find ANY reference to Search using Titanium, Root Explorer, app and data folders, etc. Strange. Where is it???

I must have misread the first time. I thought you meant the Voice Search app, that is was wouldn't update for me. But both that and Google Search are in my listed apps in TB. Just click the Backup/Restore tab and they SHOULD be right there. If they are not then I'm not sure what to tell ya.
Maybe someone else has an idea?

The Titanium-less way of doing this is go use Root Explorer...go into system\app and delete googlequicksearch.apk. Reboot. Download Google Search from the market. This time, it will not fail to install. Use Root Explorer again...go into data\app and copy com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox-1.apk to system\app. Rename to googlequicksearch.apk. Reboot again. Bingo, problem solved.

UD Team,

Is there any way (or value/file) that can be edited so my screen wakes up faster on incoming calls? I can't see who's calling until the third ring. This is my ONLY issue since flashing this ROM.

I think you'll find if you increase your minimum clock speed a lil bit that lag when receiving a call will go away.

I've had to do that on other ROMs when running Chevy's kernels, but the stock included in this ROM gives me no problem with a min of 250.

Anyway give that a shot.

Good call!! I'm running SetCPU and had my Screen Off profile set to 250/250..changed it to 400/400 and problem solved! Thanks man! Btw, love the username! Haha!

It's a known issue and BlackDroid is aware of it. Hopefully it will be fixed with the next update.

Well that's comforting. I had a braniac idea to try to replace the Browser.apk in this rom with the one from UD8...didn't work out all that well. Trying to launch the browser kept crashing LPP. Oh well, I tried. Guess I'll just be waiting for a fix. I guess it kind of is unncessary to close the last tab, as I just long press the back button to kill the browser anyway....but it's a bug nevertheless.

One other thing...is there a way to customize LED notifications in this rom like in CM6? I can't find a setting anywhere.

what else do you need to know sounds pretty straight forward.....i dunno what you are trying to do ??

When I load a full rom with titanium I put it in airplane mode, restore my titanium backup then let the market update.

Interesting concept..Care to Elaborate on procedure:huh::huh::huh::huh::huh:

First, My question was to Guidot, Second, I've looked and searched around TB and didn't notice any feature that allowed to upload an actual Rom to Device, 3rd, I've never used the "Airplane Mode" feature, as I don't travel , 4th, If you're going to attempt to assist someone, Do it with a sense of respect, especially when the question was not geared to you. Lastly, The procedure is not "Obvious" as you put it. What's obvious for you may not be obvious to all. I cannot stand "rudeness" and please do not respond to my comments if you respond that way. you enjoy the rest of your day.

To enable or disable "Airplane Mode"
1 - Place your phone into one hand, or some other holding device to secure phone from movement.
2 - Using a finger either on the hand holding the phone or your other hand, locate a small button on the top of the phone. Another fine-tuned pointing device with the ability to apply focused pressure may be used if no fingers are available.
3 - Send electric impulses from your brain through spinal column to preferred pointing object to depress that button.
4 - You may note that after depressing the button for a few seconds (stopwatch is optional), a menu will appear on the main screen of your phone.
5 - At this point, reading the menu presented is an integral aspect of these directions. Attempt to identify an option presented as "Airplane Mode". There may also be additional text describing the state of "Airplane Mode" as either ON or OFF.
6 - Moving the pointing object identified in step 2 to the front of your phone, touch the text identified in Step 5 to select that option.
7 - Magic.

Sorry. I wasn't loading a rom with TB. I meant after I loaded a rom, I install TB from the market then put the phone into airplane mode (in wireless&networks in settings) then restore my backup that way. That way you don't have to wait 30minutes for the market to figure out what its doing.
