The Ultimate Droid 2.1.0 - Droid Only

Hey, guys...need a bit of assistance. It's been a while since I've updated my UD...I'm still running 6.0. I know, I know...life in the military keeps me busy. LOL Anyway, I've downloaded the zip file...what do I do now?

TIA!!
T

First of all, thanks for your service! Now on to the good stuff...If you have SPRecovery, you'll have to rename the file to "update.zip" (but without the quotes). Boot into recovery and wipe everything then install zip, then install update.zip...Boom, you'll be there. If you're using Clockwork, reboot into recovery and wipe data, then wipe cache, then scroll down to partitions menu and format boot and format system and then go back (by pushing the power button) to install zip from SD card, choose zip from SD Card and then go choose the UD zip...In Clockwork, you don't have to have it named update.zip and you can install it from anywhere on your SDCard...Hope that helps!

I can almost guarantee there is a root explorer similarity thats free. I dunno what it is though. Yes, get LP or something and make sure it's the one you are using when you delete ADW or UD Launcher or whatever.

I have tried to find something but have had no luck. Or maybe the ones that I've found I don't know how to use. I believe you gave me a suggestion once, but no luck...

You could also use the free version of Titanium Backup.

PLEASE make sure you make a backup BEFORE flashing anything or Murphy will move into your Droid and make life miserable :)

Nice catch Chief...should've added that!

P3's kernels always worked well on MY Droid, but they may throw yours into bootloops. Droids are very kernel-specific devices, and they each respond to the same kernel differently. I would encourage you to have several kernels on the SD card so if one doesn't work you can just go into Recovery and flash the next one.

And always make a nandroid backup BEFORE flashing kernels. :)

so does anybody have any help for me regarding me not being able to download certain apps such as adw, find differences and angry birds? I have downloaded a file manager and navigated to the system/app part and looked for those apps, and they were not in there so i couldnt delete them. My problem is that i can download the apps but then when they try to install it fails everytime. I have also tried reseting the market, i have cleared all the data and cache , and still have no luck downloading these apps.PLEASE help

I remember I had this same issue and the only way i fixed it was by installing bowers black market and once I did that everything installed fine and plus it looks better with the stock UD theme

It needs to be flashed as an update.zip like a ROM, theme, kernel, etc.
