[Theme] 928Droid Black Glass X for Droid X !!!

Check the spelling... I thing I said MessagingWidget.apk and it's MessagesWidget.apk

Sent from my DROIDX using DroidForums App

You had it good. Not working either way. Can't get it to install even after overwriting the current. Current disappeared. No worries. I can reflash and I am sure it will be back. I even tried putting the original back and it would not install either. Not sure about the permission deal.

Not sure what's going on. I extracted the above file... and from my computer did the adb push without any issues.

Did you re-add the widget by long touching on the screen and re-adding it?

I ABD pushed the file into System/app. It shows up but will not install if I attempt to install it. The widget does not show up on the add widget list. I am not sure why I cannot add it. Does this have to do with permissions or that I am on a custom rom?

You don't do an install. Must be all lowercase /system/app

Then MessagesWidget.apk.... and yes... this file is for 2.3.340. If the custom rom is built on this version.... it should work. Just ADB push it.... reboot..... then hold click and add widget

Tried and still shows up red. Does ADB show any confirmation that the file was pushed? I am not getting anything so I am not sure it worked properly. I try overwriting the file with explorer and then it corrupts the widget and it won't work and disappears off the list.

Thanks again for trying with me. Really appreciate it.

No... Adb just does it... if it doesn't, it will let you know.
Have you tried Root Explorer.... find file on sdcard.... hold click... copy... go up to /system/app/ ... click mount r/w... click paste. That should overwrite. Reboot... and then try to add.

Let me know if you have any issues with this file.

I recommend using Root Explorer... Navigate to /system/app/ ... and delete the MessagesWidget.apk file that is in there. Then bootstrap recovery and reboot... Then install this zip.
