[Theme] 928Droid Black Glass X for Droid X !!!

I have the 928Droid Black Glass 2.3 installed and it runs great. Since I have not seen any posts from the 928 Developer in a long time I wonder if he has abandoned us?
I would like to know if we will be able to get the new OTA for the Droid X that is beginning to go out this week and if we will be able to get Gingerbread when it comes out? Will we have to do anything to our phone to be able to receive these updates?

He has been MIA for awhile but I believe I heard that he was sick. So be patient, I doubt anything will be done till he gets back and I dont know when that will be :( This is a great theme.

Thanks for the update on Dave. I hope his health is better soon and I wish him well. I enjoy my Droid X much more now that I have the 928 BGS2.3 theme installed. I am just hoping he keeps us updated.

Market Theme Question

Hey anyone know how to keep the market and the download button in the market themed as black? It installs fine but now it is back to the drab Grey and to me the Black is so much better :):) overall

Have a look through this thread

Lots of info on this here. Make sure to manually remove the new version fro your data/app or system/app check both locations. I do this with root explorer. its not a free app but is the best at this sort of thing.

Your system version is what you want to pay attention to. You have 2.3.15. If you have never touched your phone, you need to be rooted and have DroidXBootstrapper installed. Also, I would suggest using the version 928Droid created that has the "DeOdexer" built in. It's easy. There is detailed instructions in the beginning of this thread.

as the last poster said

Make sure you are rooted with bootstrap installed. Then download this version
http://928droid.com/ThemeFiles/Droi...ackGlassX-DroidX-OTA2315-DeOdexEERR-THEME.zip

From there you will want to follow his install instructions very closely. I find this the easiest way to get it installed. Just remember a few of the apps have been updated so they wont be themed till 928 has time and makes it back to the forums here. Last I heard he was very sick.

I really hate to hear that about the developer. It is a great theme that I keep coming back too. I really don't want to do the update until I know we can use the theme.

+1! 928 is by far my favorite themer...and an awesome guy!! I don't mind waiting for his return.

Back to stock

Alright so I want to go back to stock to get the OTA update, but for some reason I am unable to download the odexed back to stock zip on 928's site. Says content not supported on phone and won't download. Any suggestions?

I have tried many times to get the new OTA .340 but it has failed each time. It makes me think that it is not compatible with the 928 theme. Has anyone had any success with the upgrade? If not I will have to wait on Dave to return.

You can uninstall the updates for the market in your app manager. Then use root explorer to rename the market updater in the system/app folder. This will allow you to have the old market themed.

I went to daves web site and down loaded the back to stock odex file. I installed it then did the down load and it worked fine.
