[Theme] eiker83... I present to you.. 24k Black Glass for UD 2.0

What version of APK manager should I be using? Also, I have though greatly about taking the -v4 off but I was unsure how it would effect the ROM
It's not how it affects the ROM, but how it installs over another theme that does not have the -v4... because your theme installed over the stock UDv2.0.0 theme just fine, but could not over my theme (which does not have the -v4)

So my conclusion is that segdoh and Patrick, was trying to install your theme over another theme... purely speculation since I do not know what they had on their Droids...

On another note... Metamorphs cannot be installed into your framework-res...due to the -v4

So basically, I can open up UD (in the future) or my theme (right now) with 7zip and just rename the 4 drawable-hdpi, etc.. folders without the -v4 and all should be well?

Of course my next question would be.... if someone has a -v4 theme on their phone and I take mine off, would they need to flash stock UD 2 to get the -v4 back before they could flash my theme?

Seems to me (and I am probably speaking ignorantly because I have no idea why the -v4 is even there) that all the -v4 did was make things more complicated..lol

The stock UD v2.0.0 does not have the -v4.... and you deleting the -v4 from your folders would cause FC's since other XMLs are looking for images in those drawable folders with the -v4.. so if a system image is in the now renamed drawable-hdpi folder and the XML is looking for it in the drawable-hdpi-v4 folder, well that's probably why all the FC's...

That's all just my speculations since I don't deal with the -v4...except to help those that have had issue with that and my MM's.....

I see absolutely no reasoning for why the -v4 is added to begin with... as kook stated, it is something that is done by the APKManager v4.8

Oh and BTW.... you colorized the sh*t out of your PNGs huh!!!!!...lol :icon_eek: :p

that made me laugh. Yes I did. I been tooling around with all the filters a bit trying to learn them. GIMP2 is the 1st photo editor I have used in my life and I just installed it about 3 weeks ago.

I must have missed something along the line here. Where is the All_Apps.zip file? I see the .zip in the OP for the framework, but cannot seem to find the apps .zip.

Thanks,

Kratos

I can confirm that UD 2.0 does not have the -v4
Mbk and myself went through this when I was trying to install his pulldowns. And that was on UD 1.0 (which did have the -v4 hdpi extension) And therfore I could not install his pulldown.
But the new UD 2.0 (FRG22) does NOT have that -v4 extension in the framework.res and installation was a breeze (through metamorph)
But lets not fret over this too much because I'm happy with the way my Droid1 is setup at the moment. Just waiting for BD to bring on his fixes (mostly a Bluetooth fix) everything else I've already fixed. Sooooooooo
Take a break Xkape and don't worry about it.. Good thing is I think we all learned something. And just remember.......

  • You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.

Yeah I'll probably do it anyway just cause I am currently sitting here watching videos on how to do .9.png files. ANd more on how to use GIMP2. I may not post it but, I will surely test it on my phone.

Mbk also PM'd me about the whole -v4 thing for some questions I had and really, I didn't get it. BUT, I will read and reread and reread until I figure it out. Then I will read it again and say..oh..duh.

LOL... I'll join ya on that head-scratching xkape.... the Android configuration is friggin complex enough without APKManager adding the -v4 on top of that, and not to mention BD marching to his own drumbeat as well when it comes to his UD design...lmao

I guess that's what makes it fun..lol

Mbk - On a sidenote, I just figured how to edit the color of an image without colorizing it. I'm pretty happy. Think I figured out how to edit a 9png too but I won't know til I get home and try to break a framework or 2. I can see my free time waving to me as it rides away.

As in, take the "unlock" button for example. If say I wanted to make a brown theme, if I "colorized" it, it would all be different shades of brown. No white ring around it etc... That's what I knew how to do until about 10 minutes ago. NOW.. I can just make certain parts brown, certain parts white, black red, whatever. Without zooming in 800% and tring to edit every pixel.

So, did it work for Tom?

Sent from my Droid using DroidForums App

Did't try, got tired of bootlooping. All I really wanted out of the whole theme was the Gold Weather/Flip clock weather widget so i.m just running Beautiful Widgets and you can theme the hell out of it. So I didn't try anymore. Now just awaiting BD to fix the Bluetooth problem and I'll be a cappy hamper......I really think is a whole framework.res with the
-v4 or not extension thing. I am not smart enough to figure out why some Roms have it and some don't. Read prior post and you can be as cornfused as I am about thoes pickels......
