[THEME] New Theme! 1st ROM, 1st time seen... CHROME! For UD 2.1

I just attempted to flash Chrome and it gave me a bootloop on the Ultimate Droid screen when booting up... =(

flash back to stock U.D. and try again a different way? How did you try loading it the first time? Did you use Rom Manager, or go into recovery? Did you change the name to update.zip? Maybe you just have to redownload it (get rid of the original copy first) and try again. Don't forget to wipe at least 3 times to start fresh.

I don't know how to do it any other way other than going through SPR. I changed it to update.zip, just like I've done everytime and it just kept looping the "Ultimate Droid" screen.

Try redoing it like I mentioned. I had the same problem the other night and just deleted the old file and redownloaded it. it works fine now.

Bigjon. I just flashed myself back to stick, downloaded the file and installed it. No prob. It does work for both spr and cw. However.... let me make one for just Apr only for you. Be around 8:30 when the kids are in bed.

I want to try it again... But, I know I must be doing something wrong when doing this. It takes so long to get everything back to the way I had it when I flash to something. As if I have to fix all my homescreens, turn certain aps on, etc... Is there something that makes it go quick without having to redo everything?

Flashing the UDv2.1 ROM on top without wiping would net you stock with all your settings in tact...the only other way to keep all data as well would be to nandroid...

bogjon.. what Mbk said.. don't wipe man. Juste reboot into recovery and then install the UD 2.1 zip and reboot. To think of it in different terms, once UD 2.1 is loaded, from then on, flashing without wiping is like installing a stock theme.

Ahh Columbus... I miss my home.

It should work man.. just delete the build.prop file from the theme. (I thought I already did but hey, no ones perfect.)

xkape - I have a quick question. How can I open and view the xml files. For example, if I want to change the color of the letters on the keyboard. Would I have to edit the latinImeGoogle.apk\res\layout folder?

the letters are in the framework. you would need to get a compilable framework for UD 2.1 (I have 1 i can email you). then decompile it with apk manager and go to res/values and open the sytles.xml with notepad. search for widget.keyboardview x2 . then edit the color from ff000000 to wahtever you want. and save it. recompile the frame, put the chrome images back in and stick it into the framework folder on my theme. then install it.

NICE LOGO.. by the way. :)

What color were you wanting the letters to be?

Man... sounds kind of complicated. The way in doing it now is extracting the images with 7zip. I edit the images with photoshop, drop them back into the drawable folders. Re-zip the apk with 7zip, and install it by putting them in the system folder. I dont have a particular color in mind. I'm just experimenting.

Glad you like my new logo :)

yeah, images are easy... you are now getting into xml editing. that takes some learning. come up with a color and when 2.3 drops here soon, I'll already be knee deep in framework xmls, I can change a color for you. Also, id be curious to see what image edits you have done.

Edit: off to bed.. will reply when i get up around 6 or 7 or.... later if i can swing it :)
