[THEME RELEASE] * EpicBlue n Bold for Liberty 1.5 or 2.0x - D2/D2G Only!

Yep it is. I think it looks great but I wish it had more icons.

It has an icon pack for crazy home, but I am a bit upset with the dev for charging for the icon pack and here is why. ADW Launcher doesnt allow you choose all the icons from the theme. For example, if I wanted to assign the icon for PowerAmp to Mixzing, it is locked away and not accessible to do so. The icon pack for crazy home is pretty much just an unlocker allowing you to use all of the icons. I firmly believe the dev deserve the money for the theme, but to force you to pay for an app to unlock all the icons is just getting greedy imo.

Yeah that is getting pretty greedy.

if you have the icon pack, then rip open the APK file, drop the files into a folder, and use LauncherPro to set the custom icons.

You can set custom icons with ADW too. Long press > edit > press the icon > ADW Icon Theme Packs > select theme > pick icon

Yeah I know, just been to lazy :p One of these days I will.

Thats how I am doing it right now and how I determined that some icons are locked out.

Ok just installed and Facebook wasn't installed threw the market and it didn't update with your apk so it still looks like stock...any suggestions on getting it the black and blue?

Or verify that you don't have some other facebook apk in your system/app folder. then install the theme again without wiping, or drop it from the zip into system/app then set permissions on it to rw-r--r--.

stetsonaw,

OK, so I have been running Apex on my D2, and that ROM is very stable right now even in Beta .. but holy crap am I missing the EpicBlue theme. Would there be a chance of porting this over to the Apex ROM? I know you are tight on time, and I will wait for you to do your liberty GB port, but if you don't have the time to do it, would you be willing to assist me in porting to another ROM if I am not on Liberty?

I have been following the wugfresh theme porter thread over in the DX forums and if he gets the porter working all the way with XML edits it might be the ticket for me to run this theme on Apex or whatever ROM I end up on if it's not Liberty. Either way I will be in heaven and donating graciously to your cause as you have done some amazing work. Keep it up and let me know your thought please. :)

EDIT: I actually took a stab at this and took the Watermark'd theme that was ported to the .591 build (Apex base) and applied most of your icons to the theme. I made some sweet (well just recolored) icons for Wifi, Signal, and 3G/1X and did a mostly EpicBlue theme (left some watermarkd icons in) and it looks awesome. Some things didn't port correctly (some of the pop-ups are black text on black BG, but that's what I get lol), and I lost my haptic feedback on the bottom buttons. I should NOT have done this as it was just a tease of what I could have on a GB build lol. I am going to restore back and impatiently wait a port to GB from you in the future.

Porting a theme should be relatively easy. I would use a program call Beyond Compare to see the differences when porting such themes. Porting a ROM is a different question and would require a lot more work.

Thanks for the heads up on that program. Could make things now and in the future a lot easier either way! :)

meh, don't like theme porters, i like the control of going icon by icon, still doesn't take long, but don't have the time still. With only doing full theming at work (i can do patches here and there, but that's it), and the fact that i'm doing OJT for a new job at work, i just don't have the time. And when I do get time, Liberty GB is going to be priority.

I'm not theming betas either, no point. If the ROM isn't stable, i don't want to inject a theme into the picture to give people a reason to think that my theme is messing up their phones. AND i don't run Apex, so can't test (which is fine having testers out there). Here is my ToDo list for when final versions of ROMs are completed.

Liberty GB
Apex GB
Angel ROM (D2G)
