Very nice ride there! Does it get tiring riding the same roads all the time? I mean I guess I'm lucky I can hit 48 states any time (49 if I go through Canada to Alaska), however that will be many years before that ever happens. Which island are you on? When my wife and I were in Maui in 1998, it would have been awesome to cruise around on a bike like this one instead of the Jeep, which we rode on roads that were considered out of bounds by the rental company.

Nonsense! I had a couple of customers when I worked at my local honda shop years ago that were probably in their latter 60's, a husband and his wife. He rode a CBR600F2 and she had a sweet CB-1. They had several other sportbikes as well. When they came in for service, they were always in full leathers and they rode A LOT and did a lot of long distance riding as well. If you can ride a VN1600, then you can probably bend yourself onto a nice sport-touring bike.

Holy crap. I haven't been visiting this site frequently and am amazed to see my thread still going.

My ride is away for the winter. I'm getting the itch to ride realllllllyyyy bad right about now!

Just bought done winter gear for when the snow stops dumping on me even if I can only go to the store and back I have to satisfy this itch...

Yeah. I used to love all this snow...until I realized riding in it sucked. I rode into work last week...I think it was 22 degrees out...with my leathers. I thought my chin would fall off from freezing. I think I'm gonna grab some real winter gear soon. (I say that every year, I think!)

Plus, I checked out a '11 triumph speed triple yesterday. I should have just stayed away....now I can't stop thinking of it now!!!

It is a 82. Bought it from a friend at work who bought it new in 84. It was still in the crate when he bought it. It has about 18k orig mi on it. Bike is stock orig. Fairing and rack were dealer installed. Im getting ready to restore/very mild custom.
