Two Releases Two Days, Froyo Anyone? - Sapphire 0.6.0

I haven't installed the ROM yet to test it but it is downloaded and waiting. To those that have a problem with Facebook sync issues it isn't just this ROM. I can tell you that BB Froyo as well as SS Froyo both have the issue to some extent. The contacts will sync initially and then just stop after some random time. I believe it is more of a FB app issue than the Froyo ROM whether it be leaked or built from source. Here's hoping that with the official Facebook SDK out there we get a new version of the app that works nicely with some more features.

The one requirement for Apps2SD to work with Froyo is that the ability to be moved to the SDCard has to be implemented in the app itself. we have no control over that...

if there is an app that is confirmed movable to the SDCard and the option is still greyed out then please report APPS2SD being broken in the bugzilla bug tracker

as too the facebook issue it is an easy fix that will be implemented in the next version. until then you can un-install facebook and push a copy of the facebook app provided with the frf57 leak to /system/app that initial app that is provided is what allows for the sync... the market app doesn't for some idiotic reason...

Rom is running great. No random reboots or force closes. The recovery option when selecting reboot is a nice touch. Wifi was quirky with the stock kernel so I used the 250/800 P3's froyo kernel I used before and wifi and wireless tether for root users work great. Currently running ADW launcher and everything is super smooth.

Tried pulling the apk from the Kangerade rom I was running and pushed it into system/app but still doesn't have the option to sync contacts. No biggie. At least I have the themed version of facebook now. ha

Hey Sniffle. Just wondering about Apps2SD will the command, pm setInstallLocation 2 then force Apps2SD like it does in the leaked FRF57 ROMs?

it already has apps to sd that works no need for commands! well for me anyways i read that some ppl had problems but works fine with mine.
But this is a really good rom its snappy and fast the only thing is the wiffi it wont let me connect to any router:/ but im sure it will get fixed but over all best froyo iv tried yet

It's not really a good idea to force apps as it breaks the widgets and causes shortcut icons not to display correctly on your home screens or in the app drawer. The latter can be fixed by restarting your launcher but that's required on every boot.

Try Android Terminal Emulator

Typically, that is what I use. But, I don't see it on the market, along with a select few other apps I use.

hmm...I just searched and it's not there either. Didn't notice til now cause I didn't wipe data when installing Sapphire over Kangerade so the apps carried over.

OK. I know Apps2SD is in Froyo. The command "pm setInstallLocation 2" basically forces the device to allow Apps to be moved to SD card, including those which don't have that option. It also sets the SD card as the default install location so most apps that you download and install from market will be installed to the SD card. The other switches for this command are "pm set InstallLocation 1" which is to main memory and "pm setInstallLocation 0" which is auto. I find that the auto feature requires the app to support Apps2SD where the SD Card default generally allows one to move the app or instal directly to the SD Card.

Well aside from the apps with widgets yeah. As for not showing when I reboot I have the little green Android default icon and then after the SD Card mounts and reads through all the icons are where they should be.

I just realized that chrome2phone is not on here. Not that it matters much cause I haven't even needed to use it. But just wondering if it is an oversight or something that wasn't part of the AOSP.

Chrome2phone may have been an oversight... we'll have to go through and double check the proprietary files in case it is a proprietary file... I say that because all available source code has been included.
