Two Releases Two Days, Froyo Anyone? - Sapphire 0.6.0

The market is working now, however Im getting the "Installation Unsuccessful" for Google Maps. Do you know of a fix for that?

google froyo google maps fix, and try it. it applied to initial froyo leaks, it might apply to people having problems now.

I know it worked for me on my froyo leak. removing it via adb. google ;p

What can you do on this ROM that is different from BB ROM?
I want to try it but all I hear on this thread are complainers and no positive feedback so can someone tell me what sapphire does please? Thanks :)

when restoring my apps, i had quite a few that said install unsuccessful... i jsut re-attempted to install and the install worked.

Hmmm. FYI for my status reports: I did NOT wipe clean as I was migrating from SS 4.1 and already running Froyo. That might be why I'm having less Market issues as I already struggled through upgrading/updating everything while running SS 4.1.

After work today I'll back up my droid and try the more typical wipe. wipe again then do a fresh install of 0.6 to give more realistic reports.

I haven't had any of the app disappearing, market (and other downloads) stalling, wifi dropping issues I had before, though. Maybe the bone through the nose and the chanting DID help?

(Or maybe its just a fantastic ROM? It certainly is for me!)

read the changelog. Or make a backup and try it, takes 5 minutes and will let you form your own opinion on it

This is a no frills, built from source Froyo ROM. The first, actually. The previous Froyo ROM's are all built off a leaked ROM and NOT built fresh from source. If that doesn't mean anything to you... well, just trust that it is the answer to your question.

At the moment its more of a technical achievement than a fancy bling package for your phone, but for some of us its working (much!) better than the Froyo ROM based on the leak.

Ok thanks :)

I know it is the first and all, I just wanted to know more on the differences that anyone would notice by just flashing it and playing with it

I have not experienced any issues with market downloads or failures. 100% stable so far. Market started app sync before contacts/calendar even finished sync. Snappy and smooth! I had issues with the leaked froyo roms, this one is the icing on the cake since it is from source! Again three cheers for the devs and testers!

Edit: Have not tested maps/nav yet, but will definitely test this tomorrow AM when driving to work.

maps doesn't install for me either. No big deal, rarely use it

no compcache? And putting a compcache switch in spare parts would be cool

themes would be swell, but I'll be patient

otherwise, nicely done. Love the reboot recovery option in the reboot screen

Just tested maps and nav breifly. Maps loaded ok after going into settings and logging in. Voice search found the address I was looking for, and nav started giving me directions. I do not think it is a ROM issue.
