I worry that Verizon could somehow misconstrue this as "Theft of Service" (when in actuality, they are kind of stealing our service from us).

I say do it until Verizon complains (or cuts your service off), then let them know that a custom rom (which is legal) enabled the feature without your knowledge, and that you will remove the custom rom ASAP.

Dude those who are talking about illegal and theft need to understand what the mod does. U have unlimited data. .and slowing data down after reaching a limit is actually robbing me

This mod only removes the slowed 3g when reaching a certain limit. Imo..why do they even slow my phone down when I pay for 3g. I didn't even know they did that...but its pretty messed up if u ask me. Certainly isn't included in their sales pitch

I agree, plus my service has been horrible the last 2-3months, 50% of my calls get dropped or lost and alot of the time when people try to call me it doesnt even go through, its not just my phone its my whole family who is having trouble in this area. It use to be perfect around here

It's not whether or not YOU think it's justified (given your service or lackthereof), but whether Verizon will care if they find out somehow. Nobody will know until it happens. In any case, if this becomes available, I'm installing it.

I loaded up cyanogen and flashed this. Phone started up fine. I didn't see any significant differences

I think what they were saying on XDA was you had to have gone over a certain threshold to experience the throttling.

Yeah but what about D1! I've found nothing but Dinc info on this since this morning....XDA's D1 section is almost exclusive to Milestone.... not helping.

Im working now so not much time to test. At first glance my speeds nearly doubled according to speedtest.net but that's to good to be true. I think.

I flashed it. My signal sucks at work though, so I can't reliably run speed tests from here. I guess I'll just have to let real-world usage determine whether I benefited from it or not.
