Well my apps are still downloading. I'm tired so I going to put my phone in the dock and call it a night. I imagine the apps will all be installed in the morning.

It has been about eight hours since I installed both files and began downloading my apps. Sadly, the download were not complete and the market indicated that ten or more were downloading. I rebooted with the same results.

I decided that something was wrong and restored my backup.

Mine acted funky too. I would have like four apps completely downloaded, but never installed, until I clicked on them individually. I had to to do that for all my apps. Now everything works perfectly.

I always skip the activation screen and then restore apps w/ MIUI backup, then sign in to google acct.

Same here. They showed as installing forever until I clicked on them, then it completed. Weird, but oh well. Everything works fine.

On another note, I put in that maps fix for rotate and such. I wasn't sure I needed it since maps worked. WOW! I didn't realize what I was missing until I put in that fix. Google Maps is coming out with some gnarly features.

Just for reference I've been having this exact same issue and I'm not running this mod right now. So it's likely an MIUI issue and not a mod issue.

I have to say, I am really digging this ROM. I took UD for a spin last night, and it only lasted about 15 minutes on my Droid before I was right back here on 12.18.

'Moto Droid - D1-MIUI MOD' Did a quick search and came up short - the Wifi Hotspot doesn't work - I get an error when I try to enable it. I can get Wifi Tether and TetherWifi to work but they are buggy at best.

Any ideas?

Yeah. This won't work on the Droid. The rom is designed for the N1, which it will work for. I'm pretty sure its a hardware issue.

I use "Wireless Tether for Root Users", and it works just fine. It is a free app in the market.

Are you looking for an app to help you find WiFi spots, or are you trying to create one with your device?

Thanks for the info. MJ5150 - Trying to get the Droid to work as a hotspot as I was able to with some of the other roms I've tried. Gonna look for some other tether apps.

Otherwise luv the ROM......PROPS to MIUI folks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What do I have to change in build.pro to get the market showing all the apps. Missing like four apps such as pure calendar widget, drocap, paypal. Also, was able to download ure messenger widget but doesnt seem to be reading gmail messages on this version.

+1 for wireless tether! I use it on a regular basis. Very easy to configure and activate.

I noticed the on-screen keyboard isn't working....not a big fan of the slider. Is there a way to turn it on?

On a side note...There's a bluetooth keyboard app called "BlueKeyboard", that I just tested with a Dell BT keyboard - very kewl.

Don't have the exact details but you have to remove the comments around the FRG22D part and add them to the FRG83

Does anybody know how to push files to the SDCARD in the updater script? I'm thinking of moving all the extra ringtones and notifications to the SDCARD... would save a couple MB of internal memory.

yes you would add an sdcard folder to the zip then add this in the updater-script

mount("MTD", "sdcard", "/sdcard");
package_extract_dir("sdcard", "/sdcard");
unmount("/sdcard");

Thanks, got it! One other question. This probably seems very basic, bit how would I go about telling the script to move one file from system to another location in data? Also, how would I go about telling it to move an entire folder from one location to another? I Googled it but couldn't find the right code. Thanks.

Jrizzill, thanks for your work on this rom. It is a fantastic rom. My attempts to install this particular release were not successful. Many of my apps would not install and the phone kept FC (know issue). Unfortunately, Terminal Emulator and Root Explorer were two of the apps that would not reinstall. Have you made any changes since removing the Swype apk?
