Unofficial MIUI Modded Edition

Where is my email app? It is now erased ever since the latest "mod" update

Sent from my Droid using DroidForums App

i had the same issue.
ultimately wipe data/cache
installed 12.24.0 -> 12.24.1 -> then 12.24.1.m1
all is there

Yup. I can't figure out why this is happening yet. Small hiccup in the new script I suppose. But what you did definitely fixes the problem (however, a wipe is not required).

After extensive testing I can no longer replicate this issue. It was present in previous iterations of the mod, but seems to be gone from the present version. Make sure you are using the latest release.

Just an FYI... due to the new *intelligent* updater script, the mod is now forwards and backwards compatible. So technically you can flash the current v0.12.24.1-M1 over all previous and all future versions of MIUI ;) Because of this I might drop the versioning system I am currently using and go with something more generic. What do you guys think?

I think that’s a fine idea, as long as you designate that it still applies to future versions when it does, and clarify any pertinent specific differences if and when they are important for us users – both of which I assume you’d do. Also it seems like it’d make things a bit easier for you.

I’ve really appreciated that you’ve consistently used uniform formatting in presenting and posting each updated version and its relevant info. The uniform layout of info makes it very easy to quickly follow the development and differences during the process. It also makes it easy to see which is most recent, what it goes with and how it goes with it. When there have been so many regular updates over the past couple months this helps us keep pace and stay on top of it, and makes your work more accessible.

Thanks again for your intelligent hard work, your willingness to share it with us and your thoughtful approach in doing so.

Tiny update...

INCREMENTAL UPDATE: Updated to v0.12.24.1-M2. Changes since v0.12.24.1-M1:
  • Added A Ton Of New Ringtones From Gingerbread ROMS
Does not effect internal memory, as all ringtones are now stored on SDCARD.

Still not able to use the built in screencap feature. Nothing happens when I hold the menu button and press the volume down button. Any way i can get this working?

is there a way I can just install the ring delay mod? The person calling me will hear 3 rings before my phone goes off now. Thanks!

edit: nevermind, I just changed it in the build prop. :) good to go.

so my issue with the mail app is no longer there... thanks muchly.
however gmail disappears whenever the mod is applied. easy fix by redownloading from market but strange... eh?

Gmail is removed on purpose. The script looks for files in the System partition that can be downloaded from the Market and deletes them. Apps in the Data partition are left untouched.

I only have 3 ringtones after installing the new D1 Mod.

1 ringtone, 1 notification, and 1 alarm is installed to the internal memory (the phone defaults to them if it cannot find your currently set tone). The rest of the tones are installed to the SDCARD.

I bet if you go look under /sdcard/MIUI/ you'll see all of your screen shots. It works, it just doesn't make a sound to show it works.
