[v0.8+] Liberty Bug Reports

Not sure if its a bug or but since I updated to v.8 I have lost the ADW launcher and I perfer that one over the other any help

You have to choose ADW from Liberty Customizer. Blur Home is the default launcher for v0.8.

I have no data connection, I believe. I cannot access the internet (any internet app). I can receive and send text and calls. This had happened to me on liberty GB 0.6, but the kernel update fixed it for me. I'm not sure what to do. I have tried SBFing back to Froyo and starting all over again. I was in rooted stock GB and everything was working fine. From there, I installed 0.8 and I lost my data connection again. This is the only bug I have ever had that is annoying me with liberty. Any suggestions?

If you went back to Froyo, I'm pretty sure you're on the wrong kernal. Need to be running rooted gingerbread, and from there install liberty .8 I believe.

Inaccurate. Launcher2 is the default launcher for v0.8

Did you attempt to re-flash 0.8 over 0.8?

Sometimes the text is black in an options menu. Picking an account for Google Voice is one example. Black on black is hard to read.

I'm not sure if this has been addressed yet but when I take my phone off my dock I always get two black bars on my homescreen, the only thing that fixes it is a re-boot or if I enable auto rotation.

Not sure if we have covered this or not but I wanted to mention the issue with linking phone contacts with facebook contacts. I cant do that and I wanted to know if anyone else was having this issue, Or is there a fix. Im currently getting double contacts. One from facebook and one from my phone

Well finally got my 3G back on V0.8!

Did a full SBF .340 and used the guide from droid life to install the two parts and did a couple swipes, normal stuff like that and when I flashed it this time my 3G seems to be working flawlessly!

First of all thanks to the liberty team. I am still running liberty 0.7 and I am wondering what the benefits are to upgrading to 0.8. The bugs with 0.7 are minor. I'm reading about a lot of problems with 0.8. While it is really frustrating for most of my amazon apps to force close, I am very much enjoying 0.7, and wonder if I should bother upgrading to 0.8 at this time. I have done the zip align thing, And it has only be resolved the issue with 1 app. I am considering sitting with version 0.7 until 1.0 is released. Any comments? Perhaps the issue with amazon apps is resolved in 0.8?

Again, thank you so much for all the hard work and letting me really enjoy my droid x!

Flashed v.08 last night had endless force closing , couldn't back out of contacts list , had to battery pull was an endless bootloop couldn't get into stock recovery from android robot and triangle search button wouldn't register had to sbf back to Froyo!!!!!!!!

v0.8, 6/13/11, data wipe, clean install

I noticed this also. I am using LauncherPro, but if I go to preferences and restart LauncherPro, it fixes my issue. Doesn't always happen tho.

Also, sometimes when I first boot up my phone LauncherPro freezes and I have to wait for it to force close and restart, then it is all good. I can tell it is frozen b/c my SetCPU widget is the default color (green) with a min/max value of 0000.

Sounds like you did not do a data wipe, or you restored data to some system apps. The first time I flashed v0.8, I accidentally selected to restore all data including system, but I was able to get to recovery and do a wipe. I was having lots of f/c and couldn't do anything. Plugging the phone into the charger and doing a battery pull should bring up Clockwork, and wipe from there.

I've had the LP freezes on reboot (I'm on LGB 0.8) as well. As a work-around, I reduced it's memory usage preset from high to to moderate and that has reduced the lock ups. This didn't happen on earlier versions of LGB.
