Koveleski: what is the word with the sync icon some of us have stick in the notification bar?

Try going to settings /accounts and going to each account there (google facebook...) and turn of sync. This should take care of it

No dice. Still have the notification. Only accounts i have are email accounts, no social networking. Is it necessary to be on v.7 prior to going to v.8? I went from v.6 to v.8.

I'll post this here only because I never experienced it before v0.8...

Where is the Google chat or "Talk" app? - whatever they want to call it. I used to have Launcher Pro shortcut to it but after flashing v0.8 it says it can't launch requested activity. So I look for it on the device and it's gone... I figure it must be in the market then but no dice (but why is Google Maps in the market appearing as if it is not installed ["Free"] but still works just as it always has and I also open it just fine with a similar Launcher Pro shortcut??)... then I search online for info and there is none. I just started using it because my girl uses it at work and now it has vanished...

Anyway that's a minor annoyance... kinda like the lock sliders that don't line up

Other than that I've no issues at all. Been running Liberty since 1.5 and went to LGB at 0.5. All installs have been nice and smooth. Running DX LGBv0.8 Gingercomb Juiced and loving it. dancedroid

When I installed v0.8 over 0.7 (full wipe and everything), mynet seems to have disappeared. Am trying to get it back, but it doesn't seem to be available through Liberty Toolbox (apparently this was the case with older versions). Have been searching for a while to find the file to reinstall it, but to no avail. Anyone have any ideas that may help?

I flashed to GB last night. I was able to use the 3g hotspot to tether my tablet. This morning it reboots every time I try to launch it.

I'm having a login fail on Google maps. It wants me to login into Google again. I've don't that and still if fails. Then I get 3 triangle with ! In them in the notification bar that say permission requested. I've uninstalled and clear data and reinstalled. Still getting the same thing. I didn't have this problem on other .5 - .7. Any help would be great

I have no data connection, I believe. I cannot access the internet (any internet app). I can receive and send text and calls. This had happened to me on liberty GB 0.6, but the kernel update fixed it for me. I'm not sure what to do. I have tried SBFing back to Froyo and starting all over again. I was in rooted stock GB and everything was working fine. From there, I installed 0.8 and I lost my data connection again. This is the only bug I have ever had that is annoying me with liberty. Any suggestions?

If you went back to Froyo, I'm pretty sure you're on the wrong kernal. Need to be running rooted gingerbread, and from there install liberty .8 I believe.

I came from Liberty 1.5 and went to rooted gingerbread following the instructions and 3G worked on rooted gingerbread but when I flashed LGB V0.8 over it I've lost my 3G too? Thanks in advance for any help!

I am not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I've lost mostly everything. I upgraded to v0.8 from v0.6. I wiped data/cache and made a backup before installing.

I was able to install only a few apps from the market. All my purchased apps cannot be found. I definitely authenticated with my correct gmail account.. I only have one, and I have contact sync so its fine. I figured I did something wrong, and maybe I needed to flash back to 6, rewipe and reinstall. Here's where I've ran into a much bigger problem.

I installed bootstrap from liberty rom. The phone rebooted right back to the lock screen. I installed my Droid X bootstrapper file off my SD card, like I've done a billion times. I bootstrapped and rebooted into recovery, and I get nothing. Just a black screen. Button presses do nothing. I have to battery pull.

I figure maybe there is something wrong with Bootstrap. So I try to get into recovery the manual way , and I get the same black screen. I tried installing clockwork mod and installing recovery there also, Its like I've lost bootstrap and system recovery. I don't get the android with the exclamation point, I get nothing and have to pull the battery.

I haven't had trouble with any other version of Gingerbread, or any other rom I've ever put on. Any suggestions? Any possibility of me going back to 0.6 without an SBF?

I had the same issue and it was driving me nuts. Uncheck USB debugging under Settings/Development and you'll be good to go.

Anyone else have the issue of some Voice program FC after installing .08. I can't get it to go away and get any screens, I had to bootstrap and reinstall .07. Any ideas?

Contacts search doesn't.
It hasn't worked in quite a few releases (at least the last 3)
Yes, I wiped all before install. 8

On a positive note VPN now works!!

I can't get it to install. I have downloaded .8 a couple times and chose to wipe the device. When the phone boots, the liberty fist icon comes on and then the screen just stay on lit up. any ideas how to to get 0.8? I have to do a battery pull to get my phone to work again. I am coming from 0.7

id say try and install it from clockwork.

clear cache, dalvik cache (in the advance settings) then clear the data.

go into the liberty folder and go into nightlies and install v.8 from there. let it sit on that icon for a little bit (10mins) max and see if that works.

You absolutely have to do a data wipe/factory reset when going from .7 to .8. If not, your phone will hate you.

Personally I'd start from a fresh SBF + 2-part .596 install.
