yes you were supposed to get this (FRG01B) update....

Nobody knows if or when the other one will come.

Key thing is you are now Officially updated.

My wife just texted me SHE GOT THE UPGRADE!!!

My poor DINC is a bastid now.

Sorry guys, I'm no where near the phone, can't give any version numbers & she wouldn't know what I'm talking about.

You don't need an antivirus program, like, ever on a Linux system. I know, someone will disagree, but unless it's rooted you'll NEVER have to worry about it. Task killers play very BADLY with FroYo, so if you have one, ditch it. Astro is still very, very useful.

Opps, I meant ATK, not Astro. Also, Lookout backs up too...is it just unnecessary for AV function or actually harmful with Froyo?

Actually, Lookout did catch a windows virus put on my SD card from a PC & said it would autorun onto the next PC it was connected to!

I don't know if it is released by area code, are you live in, or the area you are, but my father in law has a Chicago area code, lives in Vegas, and is visiting me in Washington state. He hasn't gotten it yet, and I had him reboot his phone and check, still nothing.

The way I look at it is you might as well install it from the Froyo Circus thread like I did on mine, if anything it is next to simple to downdate (yes I made that up) and then update from the OTA after it is given freely out by VZW to everyone.

It's unneeded (and if you have good antivirus protection on your PC you should be fine. Ditch Norton and install AVG free, a good free firewall, and MalwareBytes Antimalware free. The last one there should be installed on EVERY internet-connected PC anyway. I'll provide links upon request via PM.

Not only does your phone not need it, it bogs your phone down, and burns battery/cpu cycles/generates heat as a result.

As for backup, Astro does app backup. What other backups would you need? Contacts? Google syncs them if you allow it. Old text messages? Why? :)
