Verizon Confirms Second Android 2.2 Update Coming for Motorola Droid.

I'm a computer tech for a local college, and I get calls all the time how Norton have !@#$ up there computer, I agree with Bateluer, there is no way Norton will ever touch my PC. You would think after 2 decades of Norton people would get it.

Symantec Corporate Edition seems to do just fine even with the DL of tons of warez.

Can't believe how long these threads are getting over this update. FRG01B is running fine on my phone. People with a ton of apps seem to be the ones with problems.
This isn't even a thread about FRG01B.

I remember when I would watch the forums, anxiously awaiting any word of updates that would improve the Droid and hopefully include some additional functionality. I eventually got tired of all of Verizon's broken promises regarding release dates and so on.

So I said Fawk this and rooted. Best thing I ever did. I am no longer a slave to what Verizon chooses to give and withhold from me.

Hang in there. Hope the update eventually arrives.

Love the extra 2 screens and can't wait to be able to use adobe flash! That's been a pain getting the notice that I needed Adobe Flash to view something, go to the Adobe Flash download, and not be able to download it.
Are there any other hidden features or bling that are in the update? I haven't had any time to play with it yet, as I just got the system upgrade this morning.

I would like to say thank you to Pack3t SynAck3r and furbearingmammal for their posts regarding using google to search within specific sites. I dare say that might be useful information to place on the front page of the site, or sticky somewhere on the forums. I've seen millions of posts saying to search for the info, that is the first time i've seen useful information shared on HOW to search for the info. Of course, i've also never searched for the info on how to search for the info, vis à vis the info i was searching for previously, so that might be my fault. <insert standing ovation here>

Got my OTA 2.2 update this morning at about 3 o'clock and despite rumors in the press that Moto Droid wouldnt get tethering it does in fact have it... with an additional 15$ a month for 5GB of data and $.05 for every MB after that so all in all I don't really think its worth it considering I gobble through that much data in a week let alone a month

I think it's only official wireless tethering that the Droid is inable to do, not USB tethering.

(by "official" I mean the kind you have to pay VZW lots of money for....I won't comment on the "unofficial"....)

This one is still in the "rumor" department, but that flier looks pretty official to me. :)

That's the spirit! Try Bluetooth voice dialing, and if you want Flash now you can get the .apk to install the Beta. It's stable, just not as smooth as we'd like on most phones.

You're quite welcome, I just hope he wasn't too offended by my rant on calling FroYo 2.2 that happened to fall on him. If he was, he has my apologies. I sent him the Dancing Banana of Peace, but it may not have survived to deliver its message...

And I love your signature. One of the Best Poems Ever. :D

Root! Root! Root! For te-ther-ing. Once you do it's all freeeeeeeee.

Or install Easy Tether/Proxoid/PDANet and USB tether that way, assuming you haven't already.

There's no wireless/WiFi tethering capability that can be use with the stock Droid 1 on any version of the OS without rooting. The only exception to this is the Bluetooth DUN capability of PDANet, and I have no idea how that even works, to be honest. :)
