Verizon's Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Gets Lollipop Rollout Starting Today

Doh! We were hurrying to meet family for dinner when I found it & set it up for the watch.

Unless I'm reading things wrong, the Note 4 is not compatible with Advanced Calling. When I had it switched on, the call I made was crap. Once I switched it off, it sounded as usual. I checked the Verizon site and it does not list the Note 4 as being a phone that is Advanced Calling compatible. Am I correct?

Idk. I turned it on. Only call I've had sounded a little grainy, but it was from an old analog phone line at work, so hard to say without talking with someone else that has it activated. Tried to activate it on the gf's s4, because I thought it was compatible, but I couldn't figure it out. Might just be the captain though...

I just read on another forum that the Note 4 is not yet Advance Calling (VoLTE) compatible. So, it is best to keep it switched off if you want good calls.

With the Lollipop update, the Note 4 is Advanced Calling capable. What you read on another site is probably from before this update started rolling out. Likewise, the Verizon site just hasn't been updated to reflect that the update added Advanced Calling for the Note 4.

As for the quality, when I had Advanced Calling on my S5, it was fantastic. Keep in mind that not every call is going to be HD voice since not everyone has an VoLTE capable device. But it's labled 1.0 for a reason. It's not perfect at this point.

Also, if you want to use Advanced Calling, make sure it's enabled in your My Verizon account online as well. Click on the red "Get Advanced Calling 1.0" button on this information page and sign in to add it.

Good write up! I was trying to get the same info posted I just hadn't had time to. Lol

One thing I'm impressed with is that they've sped up the camera a bit. It doesn't open any faster, but it does focus a little faster. It also grabs shots in low light a little faster. This update continues to be solid.

I can't remember the last update I was truly satisfied with from VZW. So far for me it's been solid... Going to watch battery for a few days and make sure that settles but other than that I'm VERY happy

When I activated advanced calling on mine after the update, it took me to My Verizon right on the phone to enable it on my account.

Be careful if you do the fdr. Mine messed up during the first 2 & I had to do it a third time to get it to install my apps. The other 2 times tweaked out while I was trying to deselect apps.

Yeah, mine ran fine just doing the upgrade, but I decided to do an FDR last night anyway, and it took awhile, and I got the Google Play Store errors and glitches... took longer than I thought it would take but it seems ok now.

Is there an updated list of the bloat that is safe to go in and disable in the App Mgr?

I've noticed with mine without doing the FDR I don't have any added bloat and the few I disabled when I first got the phone are still disabled
