[Video] Flash on the Droid!

Where are people hearing this info from? Their girlfriend's son's baseball coach's ex-roomate? Best detail I can find is still "first half of 2010" for Flash without mention of it being paired with the 2.1 update: http://mediacenter.motorola.com/content/detail.aspx?ReleaseID=12264&NewsAreaID=2

I took my daughter's phone in to Verizon for servicing and asked our rep if she knew anything about the Droid update. She said they've been told it's coming on Jan 22 and it would include Flash. I'm not holding my breath but at least I can hope she knows what she's talking about.

sounds cool, i am unfamiliar with what other flash can do besides games, even though flash games would open up gaming on the droid too LOTS of customizable games.

No I am actually on my computer. There is a large square with a teeny square in the upper left corner I think indicating something should be there. Could my computer not have something it needs?

When this update does happen since most of us are rooted someone will need to post the update here because supposedly root users wont get the update popup?

Ha I GURANTEE every single iphone fanboy website will post about droid getting flash haha and I bet they will come up with some reasons to say why it sucks,just because "we" got it first.

I spoke with a verizon rep last night and she comfirmed that 2.1 will start rolling out on the 22nd but it will NOT include flash support. The update only fixes bugs the average user won't even notice. Flash is still "supposedly* on target for a first half 2010 release but will likely come as a seperate OTA download.

I read an article about vulnerabilities inherent to Flash that could provide opportunities for hackers. Do we need to worry about using Flash on our Droids when it becomes available?

No. A hacker can hack your phone regardless of if it has flash or not. You'll only be prone to the lazy hackers as they're the ones whom use flash. And I wouldn't worry cause their hacks are full of fail anyways. It's the fellas that don't need your phone to have flash that you should worry more about.

You're correct. It includes a list of great features.

Well.....thanks for the answer, although I guess I was enjoying, in my ignorant bliss, the idea that I didn't have to worry about hackers getting into my phone. Are there any safeguards, like anti-virus software, or are we just sitting ducks?
