VZW Blames Sammy for the Locked Bootloader then Contradict Themselves

Wow, so to add another depth of "what the..." to this whole thing, according to Cnet, Sammy is selling developer S3's for full price that run on Verizon and have unlockable bootloaders. New Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 has unlocking bootloader | Android Atlas - CNET Reviews

This doesn't bode well for the locked bootloader then. If they are releasing developer phones on Verizon it makes me feel as though the locked ones aren't going to be unlockable.

People need to understand there is a reason why Verizon is doing what they are doing, they have the best network with the largest coverage of anyone in the USA, that includes 3/4G and Cellular coverage, all the others are so far behind, its a joke, hell Sprint won't roll out LTE till the end of the summer, and only to a few markets, AT&T has started rolling out LTE but is so far behind its laughable. All I know is wherever I go I always can use my phone "can you hear me now. By the time AT&T or Sprint cover half the market, Verizon will have the whole country covered, and its not just their LTE network that smokes, but I also have Fios TV, which puts Cable to shame, won't even mention satellite "joke". The sayings goes, you get what you pay for, and it is true with pretty much anything today. And if its to good to be true, you know what that means,stay away.

I hate to say it but this is true. Vzw has the best and they know it. They may charge a lot compared to sprint and att but think about how much it costs to put up a cell site or upgrade existing equipment.. vzw sucks for all the changes to the pricing structure and how it has gone over the past years, but they are the best because they been making all the profit... profit that gets reinvested inorder to expand coverage, improve the network, and make them number one in service, reliablilty and lte capability.

I know that sounds like im just some spokesman but it's the truth. Money makes it all go round. Sprints service is cheap but its garbage because they don't have the capital to reinvest into network improvements on the same level as verizon.

I know guys it sucks but the fact is from a business point of view verizon is providing excellent service, however controlling, and is dominating. Thats why we are all mad right???? Its costing us more to use vzw and we are mad because we know it does ourselves an injustice to go somewhere else.

Agreed. I have had AT&T and Verizon, and as far as coverage goes, Verizon cannot be beat.

Everyone here needs to understand, the Service providers control what goes in and what does not go in a device that is going to be used on their network, phone manufacturers hate doing business with the US carriers, it's been stated many times, that's why Europe gets all the new smartphones before we do, even though we have the biggest market next to China in regards to smartphone demand and usage. They need to be in control, just like our Government. Those European Socialists could care less.

We really need to get off of the subsidized model here, I think it would be better for everyone in the long run. We would get better phones and the carriers could actually concentrate on making their networks better and not keeping up with the Joneses by releasing a new latest and greatest every 3 months. But then they would have no way to lock us in. I don't know obviously they wouldn't be doing it if they were making an inordinate amount of money from the phones I guess I just don't see how.
