We just did this in transferring my wife's (we just got married) line over to my account. It was previously on her parents' family plan.

Here's my situation: girlfriend previously had a 3g card and POS phone and no internet available at her house. She got a Droid X a while back and Qwest now has high speed internet available for her at the house. She set that up and now has NO NEED for a 3g card at all. I am doing an AOL to get her on to my account since we are moving in together and whatnot, but don't want to continue paying $60/mo for a never used 3g card. What is your suggestion on how to best get rid of the 3g card without incurring a huge ETF?

I would try to see if someone could do an AOL for the card. It's about the only way to get around the ETF.

Unfortunately that isn't an option. No one to take it over. I need to get them to let her out of it somehow.

A year and change. It's already on the $60/mo plan, which is the lowest option I think. I don't want to throw away all that money for something that's never used.

Do you know the ETF price for sure? Do the math and see what comes out cheaper. Either keep and use it or ETF it. Best thing to do is try an AOL. Anyone can take the line from you. Post on Facebook Twitter, flyers, work buddies.

I think it was $200 or even $250. It's definitely cheaper to take the ETF but I'd rather not pay for either. Her 3g card has horrible connection anyway so it's not even fair for them to charge her.

Im not sure if any of the reps are really informed about lte yet, But will Lte be a different data package monthly? currently we have unlimited data, but when lte comes out wont their be a 5gb limit? Does this mean that their will be a seperate data package for lte or the same?

We dont know yet about the LTE pricing for phone or tablets.

Sounds like she should call and do troubleshooting and get it fixed. If it has "never worked right" she should have returned it within 30 days.

6 months into a contract isn't the time to change your mind about your commitment.
